Wilhelm Winery
Established in 2000 Wilhelm Winery was created from a passion for wine-making that started in a basement and grew into a full-scale business. First introduced to wine-making as a young man, Gary Shilling's passion for wine-making spans over 20 years. This passion began in the basement of Gary Shilling's friend, Gary Rhodes, where he learned the basics of wine-making.

Having honed this art in homemade wines and together producing variatles that grew in popularity locally, the desire for more formal training grew. Thus, the exploration into more sophisticated techniques had begun. The attendance of many courses throughout the eastern United States and sharing information with other winemakers helped create a quality wine worth sharing.

They have a lot of neat gift ideas. I'm not a wine drinker but, they were very helpful. If you want something different to do for Memorial and Labor Day, go check out their Summer Kick off and End of Summer Parties. It's well worth the time.

My husband and I experienced this winery at Kozy Rest Camp Ground over mother's day weekend. My husband is a beer and liquor drinker. Wine is not his thing. This winery made a wine drinker out of him! We ended up buying 3 bottles of their wine and enjoyed all of them. Even the wine we liked the least during their wine tasting was still pretty darn tasty!

My wife and I went to Wihelm Winery with the North Pittsburgh Corvette Club today. The staff was very friendly. They had separate tents set up out side for us. Wine was excellent. Such a relaxing afternoon. Thank you. Of course, we had to get several bottles to go. 😀

Awesome local, winery very friendly staff. I just picked up some used wine bottles that were $3 a case and buy one get one free since they had so many. Depending on when you read this post you might want to call them ahead of time to see if they have some.

I have been going to this winery for years without a single complaint! They have the best wine in the area and honestly the best wine I've ever found anywhere. Every time I go there I'm greeted with a smile and a great atmosphere. They have even made me a personal basket for a wedding that was awesome! could not be happier with the wine and that it's so close to home I stop there usually once a week and stock up.I would recommend it to anybody.(21^) Give their deer creek white a try you won't be disappointed.

I'm usually not a wine drinker. However after a free tasting at Wilhelm's I might change that. The variety they offered was amazing. Every single wine I tried was amazing. They even ship to any state that allows wine to be shipped. Give them a try for sure if you're in the area. The staff was amazing and I can't wait to go back next time I'm visiting PA.

Wilhelm Winery... is awesome. First of all, it's a pretty decent drive from the Burgh- about an hour and a half. It's basically a straight shot, but a long drive none the less.

The building is adorable. It's an old barn and the signage is minimal outside. They have a beautiful patio where they often host events. Their biggest ones being for Labor day and Memorial day each year. Inside, they have gift baskets, tons of wine accessories, some mixes for dips, etc... but most importantly, their wine. They have a decent selection of wines, ranging from dry to very sweet. Since I am not

Phenomenal Wine Festival this and every year! Kudos to all who make this event such a successful one! From the picnic fare, volunteers, bands, wine tastings, and wealth of fine wine offerings - this is a Memorial Weekend destination for many - and well worth the visit! When visiting the winery on the off season we have enjoyed the quietness of the patio while sipping some Wilhelm Red or Deer Creek White. The wines are all very drinkable, easy sipping table wines. Their are 100% fruit dessert wines offered as well such as Blueberry, Peach and Apple. The inside of the Winery also contains a cooler

Easily the best wine I have ever tasted. I was first introduced to Wilhelm last summer when a friend brought a bottle of their fredonia to a BYOB restaurant we ate at. I was amazed by how good it was. Nice and sweet and so easy to take down.

Because of how much we loved the wine, we decided to visit the winery around Christmas. It was a pleasant experience. I ended up trying many different flavors and found some new favorites (cranberry). I was disappointed though because they were all out of the fredonia which was one of the big reasons we came from Pittsburgh. They were also out of blueberry

A really nice place to stop, sip some wine, do a tasteing, sit on the big deck in a country setting, it was minutes from the lake, decent roads, and the people are really nice.

The barn was totally re-done, and it was filled with diffrent vintages, red, whites, sweet whites, blushes, a real wine lovers dream.

The shop also had a bunch of things to buy, accessories, cook books, clothing with wine related humor, you got to see this place, its fantastic.

This is a great local winery. Whenever I am in the area, I usually pick up a bottle or two for my family or a good friend. I'm not too familiar with other local wineries, but this is a great little one tucked way in Western PA.

You should certainly check it out.
