If you are really tired of the tradition of spending long periods in waiting rooms, little time with the doctor, and impersonal care, Palm Beach Smiles may be the perfect dental office for new patients. When you arrive in our reception area, you'll be greeted by Jo-Ann, who knows your name. You won't find a closed window with a placard telling you to sign in on the clipboard in front of you.
If there is not an emergency concern, the first visit typically involves a comprehensive exam and diagnosis. This takes approximately one and a half hours. This time is necessary to accomplish several goals. After chatting and understanding your concerns as a patient, we will review your medical and dental histories.
Do you feel like you need a second dental opinion? Have you received a treatment plan that was unexpected? Do you have unanswered questions about your treatment plan from a dentist here in Palm Beach County (or elsewhere)? Dr. Barr's years of experience and conversational style give him a unique ability to explain dentistry in words patients can understand.
A very important question. For the best results, it is important to know the qualifications and experience of the treating dentist. The term "cosmetic dentistry" has become trendy and many dentists are promoting themselves as cosmetic dentists. At this time, cosmetic dentistry is not a recognized specialty (like oral surgery, for example).
Dr. Barr believes, "Cosmetic Dentistry is the art and science of restoring a single tooth or an entire smile using techniques that restore function and create a natural and beautiful appearance." We've been to dentists in Jupiter but were unhappy they were corporations that tended to aggressively push treatments. While that's not unethical, it's demeaning to argue when you're paying as you go without insurance. We happened to have mentioned this to our Wisconsin dentist while in for a cleaning and he recommended we try Michael Barr. It's a bit of a drive from Jupiter but we're glad we went!

Everybody in the office is friendly and nice. They are truly there to serve the patient and make them feel comfortable. Another very important thing, for someone like me who has always been afraid of dentists, so far no pain at all all . What can I say? It's a friendly office that greets you with all smiles

I would give this DR zero stars if i had the option. Made an appointment for my husband who wanted one specific tooth looked at. After maybe one minute of the DR looking at his teeth my husband respectfully said "its just one tooth i want looked at" This DR slammed his equipment on the table and yelled "i cant do this is am i the dentist or are you!?" Then went to his office and slammed the door like a child! My husband and even the assistants in the room were extremely confused! We were not sure what happened. Mind you we were only there for a couple minutes!!! And he was

Highly skilled dentist. The doc is well experienced in doing cosmetic cases and helping people get great smiles. I have seen a lot of his work and it always is spectacular. Plus, he is a hoot too...very funny. His office does not bow to the insurance companies, so he uses the best materials and takes his time to do what is right for the patient.
