I heard this is the same owners as Emma’s boutique which I had a terrible experience with. And it was the same with this shop. I’m not sure if the owners were in while I was in but someone who looked older was behind the register with a big attitude. When I went in it was closing shift I believe and the guys there were just giving me side eye the whole time. They started cleaning, turning off lights, and even clearing the cash register while I was in there with my husband! DONT COME. Other than the paddle board which I still have left to try!! I rented a few paddle boards and a kayak with my friends and girlfriend 5/23 and the worker ( I believe his name was Lorenzo but my memory is terrible ) was amazing! It was our first time on paddle boards , so I’m sure we were annoying acting like chickens, but he was patient and helped us get on and off the boards. The river itself was beautiful. Would defiantly come here again due to the great service. Perfect way to end a trip to south haven!

We needed something fun and carefree to do that the whole family could enjoy, and we found it! Renting the kayaks was the best decision! You guys made it super simple, with your online reservations, and payment options. The lake was great to paddle around in. We are for sure going to be back again. Just too much fun!

Most items in store are not recognized surf brands, but off-brand, low-quality, high-priced stuff. Was hoping for a surf vibe, like the name implies, but most stuff is better suited for ladies of a certain age and modesty. If they promoted the lifestyle they pretend to be, I think it'd be a much better experience. Not horrible, but Glik's is better.

I was very happy with Jen at the SoHa Surf Shop's Black River rental location. She lent me a bungy cord to hold my kayak carrier on our own boat while we were on the river, answered questions about how far the river had been cleared (the water is high so I was a bit nervous), and was generally friendly and helpful. I appreciated the customer service even while we weren't solely using Black River boats.
Also, I live near South Beach, so I'm glad to see them renting at 3 locations this summer. It makes it convenient for all.

I liked what I saw at soha rentals! The rental was only 40 for a half day on a tandem kayak!! I liked that the location was right on the river and that even though they r off the river by 25 ft, the employees help u with ur rental over to the dock and explained how the dock works. The river was peaceful and we had plenty of time to wonder around and see pure Michigan for a bit:) After doing our thing we returned back to the dock where the gentleman helped us and our equip back to the stand. I would definitely recommend soha rentals to anyone looking for a good water experience in south haven, MI

Price and location are good. It smelled pretty bad there, though. The kid working said it was garbage.
I asked for advice on if he recommends kayaking up or down river, the response was "whatever you want".
We got help carrying our kayaks to the launch, which is nice. The kayaks themselves seemed broken, as the foot holds wouldn't lock. We weren't instructed initially on how to setup the seat. He basically said get in and go. Now, I've never kayaked before, so he may have assumed I had, but there was no initial coaching or instruction. I quickly fell out and into the water.
