A typical acupuncture session begins with a conversation seeking the roots and patterns of your health concerns. A treatment plan, tailored to your specific needs, is then designed. In a comfortable and nurturing environment, very fine needles are inserted. Most people report no discomfort at all and, in fact, find the process very relaxing.
Cupping is an ancient therapy used in many cultures. The earliest recorded mention of cupping was between 281-341 AD. Cups of bamboo, pottery or animal horns were warmed, then placed on the skin, creating a partial vacuum. Originally it appears that cupping was used to drain pus from sores, but over time, many more applications were developed.
Chinese Herbs can be quite effective and powerful, and often provide many alternatives for a particular malady. A Chinese Medical Practitioner such as Sharon has received in depth training in pattern diagnosis and prescription of Chinese Herbs to obtain optimal results. An herbal prescription may be included in a standard acupuncture treatment if desired, or a 30 minute herbal consultation may be scheduled instead.
A Physical Therapist who practices Dry Needling typically receives 35-50 hours of training. Dry Needling is based on stimulating trigger points in order to cause a muscle to release. Acupuncture includes many different needling techniques and is used to treat a wide variety of musculoskeletal as well as internal and even emotional conditions.

Sharon is an outstanding acupuncturist and herbslist!! I hated having to stop seeing her when we moved to South Carolina. I would recommend her to people who are new to acupuncture and to people who have experienced acupuncture. She is the best 👌

"Working with Sharon has been nothing short of a fantastic experience. She is a very intuitive and patient practitioner. I first started seeing Sharon just for supplements, with not intention of trying acupuncture. Thankfully, Sharon has a arsenal of therapies that don't involve needles and they are all incredibly effective. As I go comfortable with these therapies, I gradually become comfortable with the idea of trying acupuncture. There was absolutely no pressure from Sharon to try it, but when I did I was amazed. It is a remarkable treatment that releases years of muscle tension in a few sessions
