The primary role of the HPFL Professionals' Health Program (PHP) to offer assistance to health care professionals who may be suffering from difficulties such as substance use issues, depression, anxiety, etc., in addition to a host of physical ailments and disruptive behavioral patterns.

Services
The Healthcare Professionals' Foundation of Louisiana (HPFL) offers assistance, advocacy, and monitoring to physicians, physician assistants, podiatrists, medical psychologists (professionals), dentists and dental hygienists in the state of Louisiana who may be suffering from illnesses that could potentially affect their practice.
If you or someone you know requires assistance with an impairment, you may contact HPFL directly at 225-291-5000 and select extension 12 or 13. We will guide you through the details of the specific licensing board in question. One of the HPFL's primary goals is confidentiality. We do not release third party records, communicate without consent, or distribute participant specific data.
We recommend that you participate in monitoring if you are planning to request re-licensure and are in recovery. The HPFL assists physicians, physician assistants, dentists, dental hygienists, podiatrists, and medical psychologists (professionals) by having documentation from random urine screens, treating providers, meeting attendance, etc., which may be helpful in demonstrating your positive progress.

HPFL protects the identity of any person who makes a referral on behalf of a professional.
