This relaxed family session showcased the stunning backdrop of Ogunquit, Maine and the laid-back personalities of each family member.
Stephanie and Nick chose a special place to have their engagement portrait in Maine. I took a little drive out to the Big White Farmhouse in North Waterboro to meet up with them for the first time. Stunners these two. I love that they chose a backdrop that has history to their families. A Massachusetts couple came to Portland, Maine for the first time specifically for their engagement photography and to enjoy the great food scene here.
I sent an email out to a group of ladies who all run their own businesses and have made an impact in my life. I had some questions. In late June of 2014, I received a Facebook message from a friend from high school. He wrote: I noticed you like to shoot derelict buildings and decaying scenery in a lot of the work you've posted.

I found Melissa by divine accident. From our first consult by phone she was personable, professional, and fun. She was super helpful in helping me figure out where to do my business portrait shoot, who to talk to about getting styling done, etc. and at the actual shoot she was like an old friend. We had a blast, she made me so comfortable! My photos came out AMAZING. And on top of all that, the turnaround time was fantastic. No hounding her for the photos, they were ready in a jiffy. I can't wait to hire her again.

When I started looking around for a Maine photographer who took business headshots, I eyeballed a lot of photos online. Melissa's stood out. She was amazing to work with from the start. It was easy to schedule a consulting call and photo session. Her fantastic personality makes you feel like you've known her forever so all that weirdness of having a stranger intently focused on your face goes away. OMG. I had The Best time with Melissa. I was so nervous going to get my headshots done (If awkward was a sport, I'd dominate, KWIM?), but she made me feel totally at ease. She was professional, accommodating, and helpful. We seriously cracked up the whole time. :) AND, as if that's not enough, the pictures came out beautifully! I recommend her with all the power in my being and then some. All the gold stars for Melissa Mullen! Thank you so much for such a great experience. :)
