Agassiz Associates has been providing mental health services to Grand Forks and the surrounding areas since 2004. We are the only private clinic in Grand Forks that provides a full spectrum of clinical services including therapy, evaluations, drug and alcohol treatment, and psychiatric medication managements.

Agassiz Associates is the only private practice in Grand Forks and the surrounding area that provides therapy, substance abuse treatment and psychiatric medication management all in the same practice.
At Agassiz Associates PLLC, we are committed to providing thorough substance abuse services to any individuals who have been affected by this epidemic. Each program is individualized to fit your needs to obtain and maintain sobriety. Agassiz Associates PLLC offers three levels of care; ASAM 0.5 (DUI seminar / education), ASAM Level 1 (Low-intensity outpatient), and ASAM Level 2.1 (Intensive outpatient).
Agassiz Associates provided initial psychiatric assessments along with follow up medication management. Some individuals are understandably reluctant to try psychiatric medications due to concerns about medication side effects. Providers at Agassiz Associates aim to provide complete information about any medication prescribed.

I got a chemical assessment done here by Jana Theisen. I told them that I drink up to a few beers a week and get drunk AT MOST 1-3 times within a year. I then said that I sometimes go months sober (without even thinking about it).
They said that since I haven't gone 6-24 MONTHS without having A DRINK that I am chemically dependant and need professional help. They then said anyone who fits this description is an addict and that no addiction can ever get better, only worse.

I was in between psychiatrists, and I needed a new one for medications ASAP. I was scheduled to see Nikki on the 23rd of this month. I was almost out of meds, and had just gotten out of the hospital. The receptionist called me yesterday and explained that Nikki had the audacity to say that i basically need more help than she was willing to give and should go back to North East. I explained twice that I see a therapist and just needed medications. I don't see how my extra needs has anything to do with giving me my meds that I so desperately needed. I am almost out of meds and may have to be hospitalized

They broke HIPPA policy right in front of me like it was nothing.
They will try their best to extort money from you.
They will lie to your face and tell you that you have no option other than to do as they say.
I am going to file a formal complaint with the state of nd.
If anyone else wishes to do so, you have 180 days from the date of the incident to do it.
This is the place your mother warned you about.

Lol don't bother. especially with Paula. If you miss an appointment good luck getting in for a month. Then they'll blame you for not calling to be on a cancellation list, except I've been on it 4 times and I've never received a call. She'll blame you like it's your fault that you missed your appointment. Didn't even give me 5 minutes to explain why I was given xanax DESPITE telling her I was prescribed it from someone else. Pathetic place and pathetic staff. Use CPC or Altru instead. And that's saying a lot.

Agassiz Associates and their awesome staff have been a tremdous help to myself and my children. If you need to get your life back on track Agassiz is the place to go! They do call you out on your b.s. cuz lying to yourself and oyhers is no way to live! Tanner and his staff do an awesome job at helping others recover from lifes struggles. I would recommend everyone and anyone to Agassiz

All good till they drop you without notice 2 weeks before you finish.
As previous reviews stated, promise to handle legal issues until something comes up. Then they hand you your walking papers and treat you like garbage.
Really felt like they were different and better until I needed something. Thanks Agassiz for waisting my time.

Great staff. Great environment. The only time I had a problem with my counselor was when I had a problem with myself. The staff will call you out on your B.S and you will dislike them for it. But it's exactly what you need. I definitely urge others to seek help with Agassiz associates. Don't resist the aid they provide, even if you don't like it.

I have always had a great experience going here. The person that I see has helped tremendously, and listens to my concerns. My doctor works with me closely to help find the best solution for myself, and will always listen instead of just telling me what i need to do, and works with me if I belive the treatment wont work, or if I feel something else might be of benifit.

Agassiz Associates will seem helpful on the surface until you need something of importance. Don't expect anyone from this organization to actually go to bat for you, because it won't happen.
A single issue of importance and they threaten the patients and drop them, rather than look out for your best interests. You can be seen there, they will be nice on the surface, just don't expect much for results or help.
They are like the neighbor who witnessed your family being harmed, but don't want to say anything because they don't want to get involved.
