Harbor Bike & Beach Shop

A reliable, professional and fairly priced bike shop. We have brought 6 bikes there over the past 2 months and they have done maintenance and/or repaired them all quickly and for a reasonable price. My spouse has a road bike which was very expensive but old - he was told by another shop off island that it was not worth fixing. Stone Harbor Bike & Beach Shop repaired it for $100 and it runs like it's brand new. Today we went it to swap out some pedals on these same bikes, they did it on the spot and then didn't charge us. Would highly recommend this business.

What an adorable place and efficiently run business.. I liked it even more that a high school kid ran to and fro to get us a tandem bike in about 5 minutes...nothing like a hard working kid to put a smile on my face! The bike was well maintained, the pricing was great and I would highly recommend this bike shop for rentals while on Stone Harbor Island.

Honest, fast, friendly, reasonably priced bicycle shop. Thought I was going to pay between $50-100 for service/ repair, my bill was $22. Also grabbed some parts for other bikes while I was there with the $$$ I saved on the repair. Wouldn't go anywhere else. THANK YOU

Giving a rave review to Harbor Bike & Beach Shop. We have been renting bikes and bringing our own bikes in for repair for the past 30 years. They are always courteous, efficient, fast, and very reasonable. Such a pleasurable experience!

Great bike shop. Took bike in to get brakes fixed. They replaced the brake cable and oiled it for only $13. Really nice people. It's obvious they care. The only downside was that it took nearly 2 full days to repair. Happy to have a working bike again. Thanks

Awesome bike shop. Prices are very very good for daily and weekly rentals. They have everything that you could ever need for a bike. Their staff is extremely friendly and go out of their way to do anything the customer needs. We rent bikes from them every year and are very pleased with the results. We will always return for our bikes.

We live in Cape May but came here on a whim and could not have been more pleased. The guys that work here are so accommodating, personable and helpful. I described what I was looking for and on the first try, the associate took me to my dream bike as though he'd pulled it out of thin air. I could not have asked for a cuter bike and it rides so nicely! The prices were also more reasonable than we expected, for being in such a high end neighborhood. There are plenty of bike shops around here and this one is a bit out of the way but regardless, I will definitely be returning here for any future

Glad to see a small family business still thriving and in business, especially with the ever changing "resort expansion" slowly absorbing and consuming other shops and businesses on the block.

So I am an avid cyclist from Montreal. Rode in the Olympic velodrome as well as a hill climber. I have a Pinarello Prince w/ Campagnolo all around. Yay me! I walked into this crowded store and saw an unusual bike and started looking at it when a young college kid working there ran up to me and pulled it away telling me I can't touch it. It's very expensive. AND ??? I can ride circles around this bozo. I was just looking and if you do not want anyone touching it. PUT IT AWAY! If it is sold, get it off the floor and put it away! Be careful who you're talking to kid!

Live in North Jersey and spent a week down the shore. Replaced tube on my rear tire at my local bike shop just before I left. Got down to Stone Harbor and after a couple of days noticed the same tire was flat. Filled it up and rode into Stone Harbor. Tire was flat within 30 minutes. Harbor Bike & Beach had the bike for less than an hour. In that time they found a piece of glass that had sliced my new tube, replaced the tube, and oiled my chain. Best part ... it was $5 less than what I paid back home. Awesome service. Great prices for repairs and services. Highly recommend.

Since my other review was viewed as so and so under yelps rules i will redo it .harbor bike is great i been using them for years for my bikes .i go every year to have them tune up and they will not let me leave till they and you are on the same page .if i have any trouble .they go out of thier way to help .IF YOU DO LEAVE after they have done everything you have asked or told them about .your at fault not them.so i do not see why that other yelper attacked them

Wide selection of bikes to rent at reasonable rates. Helpful, friendly staff that insures you have the proper model and fit before you venture off.

Mike customized my sport hybrid bike for me so that I would enjoy it more while cycling at the beach. He had the mechanic change out my handle bars to resemble the kind usually found on a beach bike which raised it about 4 inches. I no longer have to lean over and put stress on my lower back. The bike was ready the very next morning as promised and upon picking up the bike, Mike offered to make final adjustments as I sat on the bike. The new bars and the extended brake cables work great and make a world of difference. Mike is extremely knowledgeable and offered excellent customer service.

Stone Harbor is the best place to bike and Harbor Bike and Beach Shop could not be any nicer. I am always greeted by friendly people and I am almost never told they do not have a bike for me. They rent, sell, and fix quality bikes and if you have a problem with your bike they are more than happy to fix it, or trade the bike out. They also supply helmets, and locks to lock up your bikes, which is extremely helpful when parking our bikes for the night at our hotel. I love Harbor Bike & Beach Shop.

In honor of summer, my boyfriend and I decided to do a 24-hour rental for a tandem bicycle. Adorable, right?

Wrong.

A few blocks away from the shop, I realized that my seat on the bike was loose and would twist anytime we made a sharp turn. When my boyfriend tried to tighten it, a cheap plastic part broke off and made the problem much worse. The seats were very uncomfortable as well. By the time we went back to the shop to address these things, it was closed.

I have been dealing with Bob and Jean and the crew at Stone Harbor Bike Shop for years. I have purchased probably six bikes from them in 15 years .They will take bike trade ins- ask how many shops do that. Always professional and good service. When I had brake problems with a new Cannondale bike I purchased from them, it was fixed immediately and at no cost.
Stone Harbor Bike and Beach is the Willy Wonka of Bike shops- you will find everything from cycling clothing to Whites metal detectors to the newest gadgets.
Now if they could only paint my Cannondale in dark chocolate, sprinkles

Wow, I am suprised by the ratings on here, I was just down at Stone Harbor and found the place to be very nice. I rented a tandem for 24 hours, they showed me how to work it, adjusted the seats, told me to come back if I had any issues... I found them very helpful...

I am a long time summer resident of Stone Harbor. Unfortunately, when I went to Harbor Bike and Beach last week for the first time (to rent bikes for family staying with me during the holiday week), I found the staff to be incredibly rude. After an unpleasant encounter with a yound man named Lou, I left and went to Hollywood Bikes in Avalon instead.

As a stone harbor semi-resident for many years, I have used Harbor Bike & Beach Shop a number of times. My family has purchased several bikes from them over the years, rented bikes, surreys, etc. The people there are very friendly and their rentals are always solid.

I recently purchased a road bike (my first serious bike) there. I was happy that they had what I wanted in stock and for a seemingly marked down price.
