She has gained experience from working as cake decorators at The Starfish Bakery in Westport, MA, Fatulli's Bakery in Middletown, RI, Pastry Chef & Cake Decorator at Sweet Cakes Bakery in Wakefield, RI and most recently Pastry Chef at Bailey's Beach Club in Newport, RI. She has been making her customers happy since 2010.
Pricing: As each wedding cake is custom made with it's own theme, we do not have a set price for every wedding cake. Depending on labor involved, flavors chosen, and design elements, our wedding cakes start at $6.50 per guest. Tasting consultations start at $30.00 for 3 cake & filling flavors. More flavors can be chosen at an additional cost.
At Wingate's Cake Design, we take pride in our baked goods. Due to the tedious, handcrafted nature of our products, we are unable to provide refunds. Refunds requested due to decorating style, color shade or general decoration design will not be honored. All retainer deposits on orders are non-refundable.

Cake was delicious, owner was not so friendly. Our wedding cake was simple and exactly what I wanted but it was delivered late, I was given an attitude after I asked during our tasting to pay in full then realized a few weeks later she charged just the deposit so she threatened us stating that we are past the due date of payment and she is going to have to open up our slot.

Couldn't have asked for better! Booked Wingate's for our wedding & were so impressed with every aspect. The tasting was great, variety of flavors, we decided on a three tiered cake with two flavors, almond joy and carrot cake with buttercream frosting. Both flavors were delicious and were loved by our guests. I didnt really give Lauren any photos or design specifics, wasn't too picky. Just wanted something simple and with fresh flowers. She coordinated directly with our florist, Homegrown Blooms, and the delivery and set up was seamless! Cake was beautiful and delicious, coordination was stress

Because of the high quality and beauty of their goods,, many people order from them, so don’t expect to call the week before your event for a custom cake. Over the last few years, I’ve used Wingate’s Cakes for a multiple occasions. I have even stopped by their “pop up” shops when I just felt like a sweet treat. The desserts are always so fresh and tasty. Then, this past September, I used them for my wedding cake. They absolutely crushed it! The design of the cake looked exactly as I had hoped it would look, and the taste was even better. My guests were raving about the cake for weeks and I can’t wait to have them make me a 1 year anniversary cake.

Lauren and her staff are incredibly talented, nice and work extremely hard. Wingate’s cakes are my go to for events. We’ve ordered multiple birthday cakes and they’re all been delicious and beautiful. They’re always coming up with fun seasonal treats and cute macaroon themes. Definitely worth making a special trip to Westport for. Highly recommended and a personal favorite!

Lauren has made several of my daughters birthday cakes with a variety of themes such as Alice in wonderland, Frozen, Minnie and mermaids and every single cake tasted delicious and looked amazing! She was easy to coordinate with and we have always been so happy with our cakes. We’ve also purchased delicious hot cocoa bombs too! Wingate's is our family favorite for cakes!

Wingate’s Cakes makes the absolute best baked goods around! From taste to design they makes sure everything comes out just perfect. Their treats are absolutely delicious! They burst with flavor and are always moist on the inside with the perfect texture on the outside. I would recommend this place for anything from a wedding to a simple Sunday treat. If you haven’t tried this delicious macaroons you are surely missing out !!!!

Lauren made my son's first birthday cake and smash cake. Even though he had some dietary restrictions at the time, Lauren was kind and accommodating and used her skills to make a truly delicious (and cute) dairy free cake! Both cakes were so yummy and I can't wait for another event to treat ourselves again!

I've driven by this bakery for years, but never knew they offered more than just wedding cakes! I recently found them featured on Instagram and decided to follow!
This past week I stopped in to grab some goodies for a beach picnic. A few of my friends are trying to eat gluten free. The woman who waited on me was very patient and sweet and guided me to make sure I didn't get any of the French macarons that had any gluten. They were a huge hit with my friends. The picture below is how they came in the box. To bring to the picnic I put them on a plate so everyone could easily see the flavors

Flavor and texture was great, and what I asked for. However, the color was completely off. Several shades off. Not in my wedding color palette or anything like the ref. picture I gave. If it had been a different type of gathering I wouldn’t have cared as much. I still had a beautiful wedding/night, but was truly disappointed.

I absolutely love this place. I send so many people, even ones I don't know I tell them to check out Wingate's cakes. I personally think they are the best around. I am sure they already know but they are very talented and great at what they do! It's nice to see people that are good at what they do especially during times like this. The shop is so cute too. I love how they advertise on their Facebook page other businesses should take notes!

We heard about a special bakery pop up at Wingate's Cakes and had to check them out. At first glance I saw some examples of their amazing cakes. Then looking at the display cases that they had set up around the shop, I saw all kinds of sweet goodies on display.
With so many good things to try, we decided to split several things over the weekend. Monkey bars, lave cakes, chocolate strawberry donuts, double chocolate brownies, peanut butter bars, lemon bars, assorted macarons, cinnamon buns, and of course different cakes were all some of the fares offered.

I'm so insanely impressed and grateful and just over the moon for the cake Lauren (the owner of Wingate's cakes) made for us. It was literally my dream wedding cake! Back when we first got engaged I made a list of my top 3 wedding priorities and cake was one of them. And we went on a very serious hunt tasting cakes because I was adamant it needed to be both beautiful AND delicious (many wedding cakes I've have in the past we're pretty but tasted like nothing).
