We are passionate about motorcycles. We at Indian Motor Works love to ride, restore, revive and enhance the performance of Indian motorcycles. We operate out of a 9000 sq ft fully facilitated machine shop that has been dedicated to the preservation and restoration of the Indian motorcycle. In 1977 the working owner and founder of IMW, Jeff Grigsby, decided to move away from Harley Davidson and deal exclusively with Indian.
In the same year Grigsby acquired his first significant buyout of Indian Motorcycles and parts. Grigsby's foundation as an accomplished machinist, critical eye for detail, and passionate work ethic has created a long standing and integretous reputation. Long time friend and partner, Miles Reece, was involved with Indian Motorcycles since purchasing his first Indian motorcycle from the legendary Sam Pierce in So.

Services
At Indian Motor Works, our achievements continually raise the bar. To us, every motorcycle is as unique as the owner is, that is to say, we take the same care of our customer relationships as we do the motorcycles that come into our shop. Before any service is provided, we have a discussion with you about the "predetermined standard" or expectations that you wish your Indian to meet.
In 2008 we decided to embark on a long term restoration project with a select number of high quality bikes saved from a number of years with matching motors and frames and high quality parts that we knew that because of our intentions that would create a legacy batch of motorcycles. We have restored 10 of these to pristine condition to date and have 8 more that are in process at present.
Having a deep and extensive inventory is critically important in our service. We believe it is the customer that ultimately benefits from this. Our team doesn't waste a customer's time searching for, ordering and waiting on parts to complete a project. We already have it all in house. A component of our business philosophy is to have a well stocked, well archived and balanced inventory.

Damaged 47 Chief.
At first Jeff was very friendly and helpful. Called me at home and spoke at length about the motorcycle I was going to buy. Sent me pictures and videos too. But then the deal fell through on his end. He damaged the motorcycle and it couldn't be sold. At this point I couldn't get Jeff to answer calls or txts. While holding on for a response. I let a 48 go at auction and almost lost a second opportunity at auction. After finally getting a txt from Jeff regarding the extent of the damage to his 47, I bought the second auction bike. Suddenly Jeff's helpfulness ended. I wrote and

Parts Department really fast and helpful. They know what they're doing no run around trying to sell you on something you don't want but if you ask their opinion or if you have an idea for something on your bike they will use their experience to help make the decision whether they think it will work or not. If you don't ask there fast and polite and get the job done.
