In 2002, Jason Gulla was a high school senior at Rome Free Academy, working at his family's pool business in Rome NY. The owner of the company had just purchased a fleet of new vehicles that needed to be lettered up with the company logo. As is still common practice in this area, the local sign shop took on the project, only to make excuse after excuse and keep pushing back the install date.

I ordered a sign 2 years ago - they asked for a deposit and told me the sign would be ready in 2 weeks - when I never heard back from them - the kid that was working there told me that he would have it ready by the weekend and that if I paid cash he would save me money - so I paid in cash and left with my sign - a year and half later the owner… Jason - sent a bill to my brothers business and asked to be paid for a sign that he said he ordered - my brother said it wasn’t him but may be me - so I get a call from this Jason asking that I pay 500 for this sign - I tried to explain what
