Based in Western Massachusetts, we provide specialty rentals, design, and styling for hosts who want their events to look stunning. Every piece in our inventory was chosen because we fell in love and just HAD to have it. Event design is our passion and tables are our favorite canvas. Services
When we were planning our own wedding, we wanted our family and friends to come together around warm food and intimate tables. The only tableware we could find to rent was plain and uninspiring. We didn't want our wedding to feel like a banquet. So we started collecting our inventory piece-by-piece until we had enough for the wedding of our dreams.
Our decor rentals can be rented a la carte or included with our styling services. We have packages for renting our Bohemian lounge, a dessert or beverage bar, and themed tables. We are adding new decor every week and every piece is an interesting conversation starter. Check out our portfolio for examples of events we've styled.
As an additional service, we'll wash the dishes and you just need to make sure the food is scraped off and the dishes are somewhat rinsed (most caterers will do this anyway). Otherwise, the rental prices assume you are returning them clean and dried. Please note that our vintage dishes cannot go through the dish washer.

Megan was AMAZING to work with. She made herself available for multiple calls leading up to the wedding and thought of all the little details I never would have thought of. She was also extremely responsive to all my emails with clarifying questions, last minute changes, etc. On the day of I didn't have to worry about a thing and the tables came out absolutely beautiful. The price is comparable to any other rental but the quality & look is 100% unique and stunning.

Megan at Borrowed Teacup made our wedding incredible! Her china and flatware that we rented are so beautiful and she is so accommodating to work with. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for both rustic or high end items for your wedding or party, or to work with Megan directly to help plan and style your event! Although Megan helped us from afar, her eye and vision was amazing and helped our wedding dreams come through.

I was thrilled to find Megan because I wanted to have a green and waste free party as much as possible. She provided appetizer, dinner and dessert plates to supplement the dishes that I already had. They were much nicer than the boring white ones that you can get at rental places. Megan is very easy to communicate and work with. She both dropped off and picked up the dishes. The bonus is supporting a small, local business.

I threw my daughter a bridal shower tea party, and my biggest problem was the tea cups!! I didn’t want to spend $5+ per cup and saucer like I found at yard sales and flea markets and what was I going to do with 40 tea cups afterwards anyhow!! So I found The Borrowed Tea Cup and Megan was a lifesaver! She was very easy to communicate with and even did a drop off/pick up for me at no charge. I highly recommend using her for a tea party

For my final thesis project, I published a cookbook and threw a gratitude lunch for all the professors, staff members, friends, and family who supported me in my 4 years at Hampshire College. In a meeting with my 2 advisors in the winter, I came up with doing a pop up dinner which later turned into this gratitude lunch. Megan was a dream to work with! I highly recommend Megan and her amazing inventory to anyone looking for a more personal experience when renting china and tableware. Wedding planning is stressful and expensive. I didn't have the headspace to think about how I wanted my tables decorated, or the money to do a lot. With my input, Megan designed the table layout with her fabulous mismatched china, hand dyed table runners, vintage silverware and water pitchers truly elevating the table from the typical generic rental tableware at a comparable cost.

The Borrowed Teacup provides the perfect foundation for a fancy meal or tea. I hold women's day camps, and because of the beautiful table settings and spreads, the campers feel like they're getting treated to something really special. The service is exceptional, the prices are reasonable, and this concept is so needed in the Pioneer Valley. The Borrowed Teacup gives the perfect excuse to feel extravagant without having to buy all the china yourself. Highly recommended!
