Little Swan Lake Winery is a family owned and operated business located 1-1/2 miles north of the small town of Superior in Northwest Iowa. In May of 2002 our doors opened to the public. The tasting room, our remodeled 1920's barn, features 35 different wines all produced on site, a selection of gourmet cheeses, and buffalo meat from our own herd which roams nearby.
Our vineyard consists of two acres of northern cold hardy grapes. The gift shop features clothing and wine related items. We are dedicated to producing the finest and most enjoyable wines and invite you to spend an hour or an afternoon with us. Our newest addition, our bed and breakfast, opened in September of 2011.

A tasty treat when chilled, this wine is made from just the right blend of cherry juice and white wine. Great as a marinade for the grill or as hot spiced wine in winter. The pride of the "herd" this wine is a unique blend that satisfies red and white drinkers alike. A pleasantly bright, white table wine with an exceptionally clean finish> Turkey, pheasant, duck and fish pair well.

Great entertainment in a cozy rustic atmosphere. The wine is pretty good too. Scott and Diane Benjamin are good hosts and Scott is definitely one of a kind. However, Scott seems confused about where the winery is located. It's in SUPERIOR for crying out loud, not Estherville! Superior denotes something exceptional and special. Estherville says nothing about your wine, entertainment or venue. Geographically and promotionally you're off the mark, Scott! Come back home to Superior!!!

We love Little Swan Lake Winery. When our Friend visits from Greece, she always asks to go there! 😊 The wine n cheese is excellent. Husband loves "Prairie Cherry" lite, sweet red. Music is fun n very entertaining. Meals are wholesome n hardy...served attractively. Also respected our seating requests for distant table.

We visited from out of town and had a great time at the winery. We did NOT stay at the bed and breakfast but did attend one of their "event nights" from 6-8pm they had live music and food. Tonight was Bison burgers. Food was good and reasonably priced. Did wine tasting and bought a bottle to eat with dinner. it was an adorable small town experience. Only downside is they don't sell by the glass, only the bottle - but honestly, everyone there was going through BOTTLES!! 🤣🤣 Definitely recommend to anyone locally in the area or passing through. I'd recommend calling ahead if you're

We arrived over the 4th of July weekend and stayed 2 nights. We were very pleased to find this spot on very short notice. We were unable to meet the hosts which would have made the stay even better. We were able to maneuver our 36' rig and 24' tow trailer into position fairly easily.
Beautiful area. Buffalo were fun to watch. Also saw a bald eagle. Good wines. Sorry to have missed the music evenings.

Little Swan Lake Winery is a hidden gem in NW Iowa. We have gone when they have had a Jazz band and dinner You are served what they have made that evening, but it has always been delicious - especially the Buffalo burgers (or is it Bison?). Dinner and music are in a rustic barn. Many excellent wines to choose from (and taste) in their wine store. Watch carefully for the signs to get there. You will feel like you are going down and around a private lane to get there, but you will likely see the buffalo grazing in the field. Be sure you make reservations if you are going on a night they serve dinner

Came here for a girls day out to sample some wine! Diane was so welcoming and willing to share her knowledge about their homemade wines. She even took us on a tour of the bed & breakfast rooms. This place has amazing views, and it's so fun to see the buffalo in the fields.
They host events every week too! We came for a live performance and dinner! The food was so delicious, and the meat was so tender! We were served buffalo tacos with rice and beans! You can even buy a bottle of wine to go with your meal!
Definitely a fun and inexpensive place to go! A very entertaining way to get out of the

Great little get away spot near the spirit lake/okoboji area! Stopped in for an impromptu wine tasting and was given great hospitality and sampled more than a few great varieties of Iowa wine.
The facility doubles as a concert hall, reception area and B&B, and the old barn location gives it a great charm and rustic look. The owners were more than hospitable and I will gladly visit again in the near future!

My favorite winery in all of Iowa or Nebraska!!! .They have a huge selection from very sweet to Dry, but if you like big bold oaky smoky Reds like I do, the Zin, the Cabs, Marechal Foch , Syrah and several others....Little Swan Lake Winery is like a hidden treasure! Scott is a real artist of a wine maker and he's just plain fun to listen to. Anyone in the Lake Okoboji area should check it out. Its only about 10 miles east... I try to visit Little Swan Lake Winery whenever I'm within 100 miles.

We stopped in here while out geocaching in the area. Tasted a few things, most of which were good. I purchased the Marechal Foch, grown on the premises, and Buffalo Rose (not rosé, but rose). Both a mild and quite enjoyable. Though they are importing grapes from Amador County, CA, I really wanted local flavor, thus my selection of two made with native varietals.

Wine in Iowa? Yes indeed. And sometimes pretty darn good wine too.
In fact, one of my High School friends who now lives on the East Coast (Gator), grew up nearby usually buys a case whenever he's in town. And of course it's a "destination" spot for me every year when I visit the Iowa Great Lakes and my old hometown of Estherville.
It's fun outing regardless of what you think of the wine. Start at State Highway 9 and turn north near the new ethanol plant. Soon you'll see the lake and the right hand turnoff. The tasting building is separate from the farm and the
