Santella Funeral Home
Mask wearing is mandatory for businesses that deal with the public - both for employees and customers, even in the green phase of reopening. We please ask that you wear a mask while in our facilities for the respect and safety of our guests and employees. Since 1946 we have served area families with personal and highly dignified funeral services of the highest quality.

We continue to serve our Altoona community with a great deal of pride - not only with a sense of our unique history, but also from the caring and integrity demonstrated over our past generations of service.
Services
The caring and experienced professionals at Leslie E. Axe Funeral Home are here to support you through this difficult time. We offer a range of personalized services to suit your family's wishes and requirements. You can count on us to help you plan a personal, lasting tribute to your loved one. And we'll carefully guide you through the many decisions that must be made during this challenging time.
Mr. and Mrs. Santella offers free tours and presentations to members of the community to show an appreciation for the area, in which we live, by informing and educating the people of the community to not take their history for granted. We wish to teach the historical significance and understand how our community was formed.
Guido is the son of the late Guido Sr. and Mildred (Haser) Santella, and has a brother, Glenn Santella of San Diego Ca, and a sister, Lorraine, of Altoona. He is married to his wife of 43 years, Deborah (Shultz) Santella, who is also a licensed funeral director. Together they have two sons: Guido III (Andrea) and Paul, and two granddaughters, Isabelle and Ruby, who are a special joy in their lives.
Pre-planning has many benefits, some more tangible than others. From a practical standpoint, pre-planning allows you to make the arrangements exactly as you want them. And pre-planning enables you to purchase your funeral at todays prices rather than burden your estate with the higher prices that future inflation will bring.
Meaningful memorialization of a loved one's passing can transform, heal, and comfort us. It highlights our loved ones' sacrifices, reminds us of the things that they value, and inspires us with their life stories. Have the Talk of a Lifetime, a program created by The Funeral and Memorial Information Council, was designed to help families have meaningful conversations about the things that matter most in their lives.

We unfortunately needed to have 2 funerals in the last 6 months. Nice setting but the owner was rude to us on both occasions. Approached my tearful, overwhelmed father during my mother's viewing about extra costs on the bill. The timing was absolutely insensitive. Allowed guests to enter without masks during Covid - this was not something family members should have needed to handle on top of everything else. My family used Santellas for the last 40 years but this is the last time.
