Our assisted living and memory care community is located in a quiet, residential neighborhood in the southern end of Burlington. We have beautifully landscaped grounds that include large flower and vegetable gardens, a gazebo and many areas for our residents to enjoy being outside. We are just minutes away from the University of Vermont Medical Center and the many activities and cultural offerings of the city.

The original part of The Converse Home was built in 1799 as a private mansion and, as one of the oldest buildings in the city, holds a place on the Historic Register. Established in 1886 as a private, non-profit organization, we are well known for our warm, welcoming and home-like atmosphere. During the pandemic The Converse Home's main goal is the safety of our residents and staff.
Services
At The Converse Home your monthly fee includes your own private apartment with a wide range of services and amenities for your daily needs and enjoyment. A big thank you to everyone at Converse and in Gardenview for creating a truly lovely space for my mother and the other residents. They are all really lucky.
The Converse Home is a non-profit 501(c) (3) organization and gifts, of any size are important to us. Annual Fund - Donations to our Annual Fund are used by our Board of Directors to work on special projects and programs each year. General Fund - Donations to the General Fund can be used to support any Converse Home operation or expense, from paying the electrical bill to buying filet mignon for holiday meals.
We have a heritage virtually unparalleled in the Burlington community. For over a century residents and their families have chosen to make The Converse Home their home. The Home for Aged Women, which is just rounding out its fifty-ninth year of service, is exceptional in the atmosphere of charm, vitality and friendliness which it has managed to maintain throughout the years.
What is your wait list fee? There is no fee to be on our wait list. However, we do require completed applications before adding an applicant's name to our wait list. Converse Home has been a gift from heaven. It became a perfect place for my aunt to go because of the wonderful staff and care she gets there.
Meal time is an important part of the day at Converse Home. Our chefs prepare three delicious and nutritious meals daily which are served in our beautiful, restaurant style dining room. Breakfast is cooked to order and there is a choice of entrees at our noon and evening meals. Our country kitchen is stocked with fresh fruit, coffee, milk, juices and other snacks and is available to our residents 24 hours a day.

The Converse Home is the only place I would have my loved ones go if I could no longer care for them.
