I chose to go into physical therapy after injuring my ankle while running cross-country when I was a junior in high school. I liked the way the therapists interacted with their patients, and I was also interested in sports, which this field encompasses. Plus I liked the fact that I would get to do a variety of things while meeting and helping many different people from all walks of life.
I am extremely interested in running gait analysis and functional movement evaluation as I have a history of running crosscountry and middle/long distance track and field competitively throughout high school (Visitation Academy) and college (Saint Louis University). After graduating, I have been involved in research and data collection through SLU regarding chronic lower leg pain in long distance runners.
