Yes- acupuncture is extremely safe. The U.S Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved acupuncture needles for use by licensed practitioners, requiring practitioners to follow strict safety guidelines while using only sterile, disposable, nontoxic needles. It is important that you see a licensed acupuncturist with the proper training to avoid injury.
We are In-Network with most Blue Cross Blue Shield plans, Blue Cross Of Idaho, Humana, Pacific Source Voyager, Regence, and TriWest Healthcare Alliance (veterans). We can check your coverage as a courtesy but it is ultimately the patient's responsibility to confirm benefits and acupuncture coverage prior to your appointment.
Our restorative space at Ponderay Acupuncture offers four private treatment rooms and in-depth, dedicated care. Located in a Wellness facility with other practitioners, Back Pain Solution Clinic was created to offer a more holistic approach to wellness and specializes in veteran care. We are proud to offer a pathway to natural healing as the only acupuncture clinic located in Bonners Ferry.
Please try to avoid eating or drinking anything that will stain your tongue, such as coffee, tea, juice, or candy for at least an hour before arrival, as we will be examining your tongue and we want it to be its normal color. Refrain from using caffeine, drugs, and alcohol for at least two hours before and after your treatment.

Nelson is a very talented acupuncturist. His skill with the needles, (and the relief that comes with treatments), vast knowledge of herbs, compassion, and willingness to take the time to answer my questions and explain Traditional Chinese Medicine have all made me very much look forward to my appointments. (You can't argue with great results!)

I consider Nelson Comerci part of my "H" (Health)Team because he has helped me overcome a neck injury and avoid drugs, injections or surgery.
