Tech Spec Home Inspection Service was created in April of 2001 to serve Champaign county and surrounding areas. Tech Spec has implemented a few basic principles from the start: honesty, integrity, and professionalism. I don't desire to be the largest inspection firm in the area; however, my goal is to be the best inspection firm in the area.
Tech Spec offers a variety of inspection services for both residental and commercial customers including mechanical inspections, new constriction inspections, and final walk throughs. In addition to providing East Central Illinois with safety inspections and consultations, I perform a variety of environmental testing services for your peace of mind including radon, water, lead, mold and allergens.

If the location of the inspection is outside of Champaign, if it consists of multiple buildings, and/or if the building(s) to be inspected combined are larger than 3,500 square feet it may require more than a single timeslot to complete.While we will accommodate such requests to the best of our ability it may not be possible to perform the inspection at the requested date and time if the following timeslot is already booked.

I was nervous about doing the home inspection. First time buying a house and wanted a thorough report to ensure my new home would be safe for my 4 kids and myself. Troy took his time and went through all the details of the home. The report was very informative and I appreciated the comments and photos so that I could understand some of the issues that needed fix in areas I was not knowledgeable about.

Troy travelled an hour outside his normal territory to inspect our home.
Troy was very professional and performed a thorough inspection. At the end of the inspection he met with us, gave us a very detailed summary and answered all questions we had. He was very patient and took his time addressing any concerns we had.

Never hire tech spec Troy Doehring. Missed a major fault at home which caused me more than 20k repair, stress for 1 month to find all contractors for repairs. Called Troy, he was rude despite missing major flaws with home. He did not even say sorry for missing water damage and mold. 100% never recommend this guy for home inspection. I thought of reporting to Illinois professional regulation and sue him for missing major flaws and rudeness despite missing mold and water damage. I will post pictures soon here.
