Like many successful businesses, Protective Packaging, Inc. started small. Founded in 1987 by Bob Masella and his college roommate - both Packaging Engineering majors at Michigan State University - PPI launched in borrowed office space in a foam fabrication factory.
Thirty years later, PPI is still a foam packaging manufacturer and much more, serving the sophisticated needs of some of the world's largest and most respected companies, including Honeywell, GE, BAE Systems, and Teradyne.

When you need to protect your products in transit, you can count on Protective Packaging, Inc. to come up with the most cost-effective cushioning and bracing solution. We've been in the business for decades. We manufacture custom foam inserts here in our New England facility for any size corrugated box and popular case brands including Pelican and Hardigg, and distribute a wide range of custom and stock cases.
PPI offers a range of custom die cut foam inserts to meet exacting drop-test standards and other specifications. Our engineers can craft the ideal insert using polyethylene, polyurethane, expanded polystyrene foam, along with other cushioning and bracing materials. Every insert is made right here in our Massachusetts manufacturing facility.
Paper is a cost-effective and environmentally friendly material for custom box inserts. We can design trays and product separators in corrugated or cardboard using a variety of thicknesses and colors ranging from natural kraft to black or white. Corrugated and paperboard can securely hold products in place, and we can drop-test prototypes to ensure your products will not be damaged in shipment.
