Lawrence E. Young Sr. and his wife, Lois, were looking for a place to relocate in order to begin a business and raise a family. They came from Litiz, PA which is known as Pennsylvania Dutch country, and on a visit to Clarks Summit knew it should be their home. The people of Clarks Summit changed their lives forever.
It was in 1954 that Larry began serving the area with the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home. In 1972, his son, Lawrence E. Young (Bud), joined his father in the business. He continued the tradition that his parents began, of serving the community, until 2009. The third generation, Stephen L. Young is now Owner of the firm.

Staff members of Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home are caring and experienced professionals who understand that each family is unique and has personal requests and traditions. Steve is a 3rd generation funeral director carrying on the kindness and compassion of his father and grandfather.
We offer convenient off street parking, and handicap accessible ramp. We have long been aware that many individuals find the purchase of a casket to be an intimidating and uncomfortable experience. We offer families a comfortable setting for casket selection in the privacy of our facility. We have a wide selection of bronze, copper, stainless steel, metal and wood caskets.

Everyone very helpful and knowledgeable. Steve treated our deceased love one with dignity. Have large selection of needed items. No hidden surprise charges. Included everything we wanted at service, which was very personalized. Very prompt at answering any phone calls and were very patient with numerous calls. Our family has used their services before and have always been greatly satisfied .

After you have spent so much of your time, energy and love taking care of your loved one in life, it is so comforting to have someone like Steve to take care of them at the time of their death. Stephen and his staff took care of everything for us, down to the last detail and in the most wonderful ways. They had a pleasant and easy manner and were a delight to work with. If we had questions, they were prepared to answer them. If we had concerns how to do things, they were ready to tell us how (to lend the needed counsel) or where possible to do those things in our behalf (relieving us much trouble and distraction). We cannot imagine a funeral home serving its clients better than the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home served us.
