About Us Report
In 1959, the Wozniak & Cook families of Michigan City, Indiana opened General Rental, which served the community for over 54 years. In October of 2013, Kabelin Hardware Company purchased General Rental, then two years later in October of 2015, they purchased Grand Rental Station. Kabelin Hardware Co., is a locally owned family business since 1912 with the 4th generation of the Kabelin family currently operating the hardware and rental businesses.

Rented 35" lift Go to take it off the truck with the Jack stand down and it fells Jack stands so cheap that it just fells right to the ground & i have a worker hurt as well as myself All we get is all we never had that issue no you guys no nothing definitely will not rent from this place again they put the cheapest things on expensive equipment and don't let you know that it's not safe definitely will rent from somewhere else definitely sad that this place has went down compared to where it was.

Talked to rental store manager and he had a real bad attitude about repairing something. The mechanic was not very helpful either. Would not recommend going here if you need something repaired.

Tom Smith is one awesome person! He let my husband use the small excavator for his first time ever just to have the experience! If that isn't true kindness I don't know what is.

Great service, small town laid back feel, much larger rental selection than you would think. Definitely worth checking out next time your stuck without the right tools.

Worst customer service. I called with a complaint and instead of explaining the situation all the woman said was “we don’t do that and you didn’t pay for it”. In an EXTREMELY rude voice. Go with Classic Catering. Not only will it look better but they have a MUCH nicer staff.

I had never rented here before. The clerk knew I was in a hurry so he suggested I go get what I needed from Ace Hardware next door while he completed the transaction. When I returned the item I needed to rent was ready to go. I appreciate an employee who thinks of my needs. I was late bringing the ladder back and they didn't even charge me.
