Sometimes being sustainable is about the small decisions. When asked about his sustainability philosophy for building our new facility, CEO Mark Mathes says Vanguard tries to "live everyday as an example of how lots of small things start to add up to big results." Vanguard tried to limit the amount of building materials in our new facility.

When Jack Mathes and his wife Bobbie founded Vanguard in 1975, the company sold poly bags with no intention of working in the corrugated industry.
