Best bike shop in town!.. Great service. The people were so helpful and acommodating. -- I had a catastrophic bike issue on day 3 of the Ride the Rockies 6 day bike tour. Everyone said I was done. No! This bike shop went above & beyond and I got to rent a BETTER road bike than I had. I owe them my tour! Thanks so much...

I guess it's on me for not doing a bit more homework but was basically offered a "discounted" rate of $65 each for the day (I mentioned we would ride for 3 hours) for 7 of us - three kids bikes, two fat tire bikes (huh?) and two carbon dual suspension - he said he usually rents them out for 140 a day - most places in town will rent a dual suspension bike for around $75 - shame on me for not calling around a bit more - I would look elsewhere for affordable bike rental -

Arrived in Telluride just before 5pm and decided at the last minute to rent bikes for my family for the next day. They were minutes from closing but waited on me to get there to pick up 3 bikes. The bikes were in excellent condition, the price was reasonable & they were knowledgeable about the area, however I'm giving them 5 stars because the staff was so friendly and accommodating! In the short time I've been in town my experience with many local employees has been unfriendly, boarderIng on rude. I'm assuming it's due to the strain of Covid so it sure makes the friendly & kind ones stand out.

Even with Covid, Telluride was jammed to the gills the weekend I arrived. I had planned to spend three days hiking, biking, and seeing the sights and wasn't sure what day I would be doing it all given the prospects of social distancing closing or limiting certain attractions-like the lifts to the bike park. Therefore I made the uncharacteristic decision to wing it and not reserve anything until assessments could be made (not a strategy I would recommend). Needing three bikes in two different sizes I was less than confident and fully prepared that my lack of planning would yield "bottom

These guys were great and so flexible. In comparison to some other mountain bike rental shops, these guys made sure to provide service and product above just a price point. When I received a bike with a missing post, they upgraded me to the best available bike to ensure that I was safe and had a great time. John was awesome and a fun guy to chat with afterwards. Thanks for making my time in Telluride amazing.

Had a new set of tubeless tires installed for my mountain bike . I was informed the bike was ready that night, but when I came in the next morning the tires would not hold air. After several hours of waiting for them to re-tape the rear wheel (this takes 20 min top and three mechanics were free-handed), I could finally ride but had to severely shorten my riding time. There was no discount for services. A month went by and both tires would loose air overnight until they leaked so badly at the tape one day, that I missed a meet-up. My local shop discovered that they had used an inexpensive and “easy

I called to reserve a bike a week before. 5 stars for that service.
When I got to the shop to pick up the rental. I waited in line and watched them give the specific mountain bike to someone else. I was helped and shortly after whispering took place between the workers (literally with their backs turned).
The worker then came to tell me my rental bike was not returned yet, so I waited. One hour goes by (10:10 - 11:25). The rental I waited for, did not go through any inspection from the previous rider. They washed it, perform adjustments and I went on my way.
On my return; "did you fall or drop

I rented a mountain bike for a ride while in town. I am pretty new to biking and Box Canyon got me set up with a great bike that fit me well. They were also able to recommend some good green and blue trails in the area. The half day rate is very reasonable at $54 for a full suspension bike. The staff is super friendly - would definitely rent here again.

I had an incredible experience with Box Canyon Bikes & staff, while attending the Telluride Bluegrass Festival in June of 2019.
It all started with the purchase of a pair of flat peddles for flip-flop touring town while at the festival. The staff also took time to show me the classic rides around town, Galloping Goose, Locals Ride and the Intermediate MTB trails, on a large wall mounted map.
The next day, I stopped in with a concern regarding rear wheel spoke tension and left the bike with them at 2:00pm. Received a call at 4:00 the same day, saying I was all set and charged $15 for the service

Very disappointed, I consider myself a intermediate-level mountain biker, I ride a hard tail and have been thinking about investing in a full suspension. So I figured I’d rent a full-suspension on my vacation instead of bringing my hardtail. I placed the rental online, an XL Rocky Mountain Pipeline, and a medium hardtail for my wife, three days prior to the pickup date, got my confirmation email and everything seemed fine. However, upon arriving they discovered that they didn’t have any XL full- suspension bikes left even though I’d made a reservation ahead of time. They handled it well and

This shop is awesome. I was up riding Prospect on Saturday and my rear axle started to lock up about a mile from the end of the trail. I rode it the last mile and dropped by Box Canyon expecting to hear that I needed a completely new hub. They managed to salvage the bearing races, replaced the bearings, and got me going in about an hour!

I love these guys. Travis loves bikes and is passionate about taking care of his customers. Bart can wrench with the best of them. Steven always has a smile on his face. I should mention, everyone at the shop are avid riders who can stomp me into the ground any day of the week. Thankfully, when they are not crushing my soul on the trail they have enough time to fix my bikes that I am constantly breaking.

I rented a Borealis Fume from Travis at Box Canyon Bikes. Travis is very knowledgeable about the Telluride trail system. He recommended I ride the Bear Creek Trail. I did. It was beautiful. It was very challenging riding uphill in the snow. It was a blast riding downhill. I left Box Canyon Bikes with an ear-to-ear grin. I highly recommend this LBS.

My wife and I rented bikes here and it was a great experience. Travis got us set up with high quality bikes that fit well. We happened to bring our own shoes and pedals, but when one of the screws on my wife's cleats got lost he had a replacement to get her riding again. They have both Road and Mountain bikes available. It also appears to be a popular spot for locals to take their bikes for service. I'll be coming back any time I'm in Telluride.
