Old-time care and professionalism coupled with the latest equipment is the only way to describe the Vandalia Optometry difference. You see, with many of the larger practices today you spend less time with the eye doctor. The larger practices and chain stores have technicians other than the eye doctors prescreen you so that they can move more people in and out of their doors.
At Vandalia Optometry you will average 15 to 20 minutes more with an eye doctor per visit and we would not have it any other way. With our over 100 years of collective optical experience, we pride ourselves in our responsibility in making sure that our patients needs are met properly.

Services
The American Optometric Association recommends that a child's first eye examination should be at 6 months of age. We strongly recommend that all children should be examined before they enter school. Dr. Davis has been screening children at Vandalia Preschool for 13 years now and is constantly amazed at how many children need visual correction or more.

This team was so kind, and welcoming! I never write reviews but they did everything in a timely manner and I believe his name was Marcus, he was very patient with me as I chose my lens (I was very picky, poor guy)! I was almost in tears because I could not believe the change in my vision after my glasses, I never realized how much I needed them! Thank you Vandalia Opt!

All of the staff was very friendly and professional. Dr. Davis does a great job of making something as bland as an eye exam fun and personable. I had a small miscommunication issue with choosing the options of my lenses when it came time to order my glasses, which I think was just a misunderstanding on both my behalf as well as one of the staff. However, after expressing my concerns, Wayne in the office iimmediately worked with me to solve the issue and everything turned out great.

The office staff was very rude to me over the phone and could not accommodate my schedule. My original appt was canceled due to covid 19 which is fine, but this they rescheduled me with out notice and I of course have to work on the day of the reschedule so I called to cancel and the secretary was unwilling to accommodate and the closes appt in in June. I said that will not work and that I had to been seen before and she suggested I change my work schedule or find a new eye doctor.

For posterity: this happened in the Corona virus outbreak.
I broke my set of glasses which had been purchased elsewhere before I moved to Vandalia. I called Vandalia Optometry per a recommendation from a coworker, and found they were open and doing a parking lot service.
I came by, called, 15 minutes later my glasses were re-strung and set (the glasses that don’t have the frame at the bottom), new nose pads, and tightened to once again fit my head.
I asked how much I owe them and they refused a charge. Asked again to be sure and was again politely declined. They never asked my phone number

I wish I would have found them a long time ago! After seeing another doctor, Dr. Davisson confirmed my suspicions that I was given glasses that were the wrong script (spent a ton of money on them and don't even need them).
My first impression was that the office was nice and it smelled good. The staff was incredibly friendly and I was actually seen at the time of my appointment (no waiting like at other places). Dr. Davidsson was very easy to talk with and explained things in lay terms.
I am so glad I found them!

I made an appointment at Vandalia Optometry at the encouragement of a co-worker. Dr. Davisson, on my first visit was able to fix me up with a pair of contact lenses that enabled me to chuck the "Readers" had been using for years. I can now read restaurant Menus without glasses (except, maybe the really small print or in dim light) Nevertheless, the entire experience was pleasant and I am more glad I made the change. Professional Doctor, Friendly Staff, Clean Office, Prompt Service, Convenient location...Five Stars!
