Layton's Ozark Timber Sawmill and Fencing, LLC was born in the Ozark Mountains near St. Joe, Arkansas in 1967. The Layton family recently purchased the company and are continuing the strong tradition of quality product that the White family produced for years. Bill White and his son, Steve, purchased a treating plant in St. Joe with plans to enter the business of manufacturing treated wood fence posts and backyard fences.
Bill White was owner of a fencing company in Springfield, MO.Carnahan-White Fence Co. Bill and Steve decided that starting a company that would manufacture wood fencing would give their fence customers a better choice in landscaping while providing the privacy and durability consumers needed.

Services
Copperwood is sold through some of the best fence companies in the United States. Whether you live in urban Chicago or rural Mississippi, arid Phoenix or the beautiful Great Lakes region, chances are we have a dealer in your neck of the woods who will install your decorative, privacy, or ranch fence flawlessly.
We hope that you love your Copperwood Fence! Some of the people who buy our fences send beautiful pictures of their fences that have been installed for many years. This picture is of a 22-year-old fence in the Lap-N-Gap style. If you would like to extend your existing fence, or if you need repair or replacement, you should start by contacting our dealer in your area.
Our signature fence is Copperwood. These fences are made from locally-harvested pine, which grows relatively slowly at the elevations found here in the Ozark Mountains. We process almost all of the lumber that we make our fence from right here at our sawmills. The combination of slow-growth timber and copper naphthenate applied in our pressure chamber produces a beautiful, long-lasting, natural wood fence.
Layton's Ozark Timber Sawmill and Fencing, LLC's dealers are masters at making your back yard into an outdoor living oasis. We plan to use this inspiration page to feature special projects that our dealers are working on. If you're a Copperwood dealer, and if some really well-styled photos of one of your projects, please submit them to us via e-mail.

Report
Eight months ago, a copperwood fence manufactured by Ozark Timber was installed on an adjacent property to my home. The nauseating odor causes swelling in my throat and severe headaches. I can no longer use my back yard due to health issues created by the chemicals used to treat the fence. The odor has not diminished during the past 8 months. I called Ozark more than a week ago and left a message but they will not return my call. Additional attempts to contact Ozark Timber provide only a busy signal.
