We have stopped in here numerous times and the food has always been good (especially the clam chowder). Just thinking about it now is making me want to drive over and get some! Recommended!

The special today was red snapper fillet, which all 3 of us (my husband, my mom and myself) all chose. It was delicious and served with a baked potato, totally yummy. This has become our favorite seafood restaurant! The service is friendly and always goes out of their way to make your experience a good one. Their prices are decent too.

So fun and tasty. I am used to oysters on the shell and these GIANT oyster shooters were a fun surprise and a challenge to shoot because they were so large. But everything beast delicious!

I just ordered the shrimp Louie salad to go & it was the best meal I’ve had since Covid hit. It was so fresh & tasty with a healthy portion. I’m an extremely good home cook & always consider healthy options. This was as good or better than mine. They had our order fir chicken, fish & Louie salads ready within 15 minutes. We all are still raving how delicious our food was.

Fishery off the draw bridge... expected a great dinner. As we walked in the restaurant was clearly in need of cleaning and vacuuming. There were flies everywhere and we couldn't tell if it was because of the plants or bad trash that needed to be taken out.

The clam chowder was great along with the blackened halibut and the red snapper. Iced tea kept coming and the service was great.

Needs to be cleaned to match it's good food. Ambiance is everything. It's amiss at the gratto. Just gross.

This place used to be great. Not anymore!!!!! The reason. The grumpy old guy (owner). He will mess up, and instead of offering any kind of responsibility, will blame you for it. When they are busy. He is rude, disrespectful, and doesn't listen to a word you say. Im a local, so I couldn't imagine how he treats tourists. The restaurant has flies all over it. The fish tanks inside haven't been cleaned in years, and there's fish still in them. And it's not local caught fish, do not be fooled, this place is trash.do not waste your time, money, or peace. Avoid at all cost.

One of the best hidden gems. Fish is extremely fresh. One plate can definitely feed 2 people. Clam chowder was amazing. I had the fish and chips the fish was so flaky and the tempura coating was perfect. Also service was excellent and even though the apologized for 5 minute the staff did wonderful. Can't wait to visit again.

Worst experience ever. Person that seated us was grouchy. Pointed ahead of him and said. Against the wall. Did not take us to our seat. Person that took our order was just about as bad. Hurried us on our ordering. We asked for water and he brought one glass. There were two of us. My husband spilled his chowder and we did our best to clean up with the two napkins we had. We asked for more napkins and he gave us a rag and left it sitting on table through our whole meal. Did not offer to help clean it up. It was absolutely terrible service. The food was only adequate. Would never go there again.

You don't get any more authentic Oregon seafood than Charleston, and this place is the best...there menu is full of local delicacies, and there fish and chips are excellent...the breading is like nothing I've ever had, so crunchy, and without heavy seasoning so the fish is still the star of the show...dine in, or order to go and find yourself a picnic bench a few miles down the road and enjoy your fish and chips while watching the waves roll in

Had lunch there a about 3 wks ago with a friend.Their special was fresh salmon. Best salmon we've had in a restaurant in years. I had the sautéed veggies, my friend the fries. Both were very good. They serve large portions.

I would love to give this local restaurant 5 stars for food. Due to the cleanliness of the inside, I can't. Another friend told me the same about her experience eating there. Good food, poor maintenance.
There was a large crowd for lunch. Only one waiter. He did a good job keeping up. At the entrance there was a help wanted sign. Maybe with more help the owners

I hate leaving negative reviews but I want to discourage anyone who wants to eat Oregon Coast seafood from going to Fisherman's Grotto.
The Shrimp Pasta was not eatable. The server was trying, but it took 2 hours to get our food.
Only reason I am leaving a 2 star review is the Seafood Combo plate was mildly OK.

I'm always reminded to not judge a book by its cover. This place is very worn but the service and food shine!Best fish and chips we've ever had. Light, flaky crust on the delicate fish. Melts in your mouth! Fries are perfect too. And don't forget to get a cup of chowder to start!

Simple ingredients, nothing fancy here, but good. We had the sourdough bread bowl with chowder, fish and chips and crab cakes. The texture of the fried fish was very nice. The sauces were homemade and good. The bread bowl wasn't stale and the chowder had a good flavor (but didn't have a lot of clams if you're looking for that). Nothing was too salty. To the haters who say it is bland- I say they let the flavor of the fish be the star of the show.
Pretty good for Coos Bay/Charleston!

After being so isolated since March, coming out to Charleston for the first time was a breath of fresh air. The restaurant has so many interesting pictures and stories. We had a wonderful woman serve us our food and chat with us for awhile. I loved hearing about the family! I had the halibut, which was right out of the fryer, hot and tender. The six ounce portion was more than enough to fill up on. I heartily recommend the potato salad if you aren't into french fries. It is deliciously flavored with mustard and the perfect amount of mayo. The bathroom could use a bit of improvement, but it was

This place was a convenient as a 2 min drive from my Airbnb.

I ordered the clam and fries meal. The portion sizing was huge! I actually ate this for breakfast and lunch!

The clams were deliciously blended and really good! The fries were good too.

They also had a really good fresh squeezed lemonade.

The take out was a smooth experience and person at the counter was wearing a mask.

A good stop on the way down or up the Oregon coast!

Great seafood, reasonable prices - and really neat birdhouses for sale. I had the clam strip and fries. The clams were so tender I could cut them with my fork! I don't remember what my husband had, but we also shared a bowl of cioppino - which was excellent! Lots of shellfish and fish, and perfect broth flavor. The setting is very casual, and the staff seated patrons well away from each other. They were all wearing masks and insisted on their patrons wearing masks unless they were seated at their table.
Great foodie experience.
The only negative is that there is zero view, but of course

This place by far is one of the best places to eat in the area! I had the blackened halibut with vegetables and it was just as slavery as savory could be. The clam chowder puts other restaurants to shame,And their lemonade is simply perfect. The service is kind of warm and friendly with no complexion issues to speak about. The ambience is what you would expect from waterfront restaurant with tchotchkes pictures of the bay and just an informal down-home feeling of warmth. I would recommend this place to anyone passing through.
P.S.
The owners cook and serve the food, so be sure to thank them for

We passed by and came in for an early lunch. The food is amazingly tasty. We ordered the sampler and the sautéed scollops and shrimp with mushroom, bowl of clam chowder. The staff is friendly and he wears a mask.
The place is spaced out nicely so lots of distance between customers. The decor is dazzled with flowers that I thought was fake because they look too perfect. But it turned out to be all homegrown flowers were amazing and beautiful!

In the mood for real, freshly squeezed lemonade? Then you should stop into Fisherman's Grotto if you're in Coos Bay OR.

I ordered the special; red snapper (grilled) with a baked potato, while the Mrs choose their homemade crab cakes, also with a baked potato. We each ordered a cup of clam chowder too. Just to compare to the others we've tasted. I got the lemonade, while the Mrs asked for a Bloody Mary. Nether of us were disappointed. The drinks & meals were wonderful.

The snapper was flaky, juicy & tender. Her crab cakes were golden brown, swimming with flavor. The

The food was fresh and really good. You can get the bay shrimp on any of the salads for extra. The restraunt is large and not many people were in there. Second time stopping in and it's pretty good. The blackened oysters were not what we expected. We were expecting fried in a blackened seasoning. But they were sautéed in butter and blackened seasoning.
