Elliott Mortuary & Crematory is a family owned and operated funeral home, and is honored to have served the families of Hutchinson and Reno County for over 80 years. The funeral home was established in 1935 when Jim Elliott partnered with Dale Gard to establish Elliott-Gard Funeral Home. Both men had fathers in the profession, and Jim's brother was a partner of Dale's father in Anthony, Kansas.
At this time in history, our area was just emerging from the Great Depression and dust storms continued to plague Western Kansas. Jim's sons, Bill and Don Elliott, joined the funeral home in 1948 and 1953, respectively. Bill joined after serving in the Army during World War II and college, while Don joined following service in the Korean War and college.

Elliott's helped us plan both of our parent's funerals and we very much appreciated their excellent service and caring actions in making sure our needs were met in every way. A huge thank you to Sonja for her attention to every detail, and lovingly helping us navigate through the painful process. Our heartfelt gratitude is extended to every member your team.

Elliott Mortuary runs like a well oiled machine. They are working so hard behind the scenes to take care of every single detail, that you as the family can just focus on getting through, and being there for each other.
Stacey was incredible, friendly, kind, and bent over backwards to help us get everything done in a timely matter.
