Prior to opening the practice, Dr. Newell worked for three years with Drs. Waugh and Allen in their Athens, Watkinsville, and Winder offices. He loves working with our fun and talented team members, and he truly enjoys coming to work to see our patients every day! Dr. Newell loves his job! In fact, he knew by age 15 that he wanted to be an orthodontist.

She has 3 years of experience teaching middle and high school and 2 years of medical office experience.
Dr. Bill Newell is a board certified orthodontist, which is a distinction held by fewer than 40% of orthodontists nationwide. Making the commitment to become board certified demonstrates Dr. Newell's desire to be held to the highest clinical standards in his specialty. The American Board of Orthodontics (ABO) was founded in 1929.

We have had a great experience at Newell Orthodontics. I went to 3 offices for evaluations and ultimately chose Newell. We have finished one round of braces for one child and starting with our next child pretty soon. Dr. Newell is very down to earth and understood my concerns of having 2 in braces at the same time and even wanting to wait to begin treatment with another child. They have all been great.

Newell Orthodontics was nothing by amazing! I am not from Athens and they were able to fit me in for a problem that needed attention right away. Heather did a great job fixing my retainer and making my pain go away. Such a friendly staff and I would highly recommend them for all your orthodontic needs in Watkinsville/Athens area!

Even though we were running late, the super nice office ladies were very gracious allowed us to come on in. Everyone was helpful and efficient. We were in and out in a short amount of time but definitely felt like everything was explained well and we had plenty of opportunity to ask questions. I especially liked that they weren’t trying to force treatment on us, but were truly wanting to do the best and most conservative thing for our child’s teeth and our resources. The office color scheme was cheery and coffee in the waiting rooms doesn’t hurt either! Thank you!!

I don’t usually write reviews but I had to for this practice. My first visit today was amazing!! The entire staff was friendly and Dr. Newell is so charismatic. I didn’t feel like he was rushing to his next appointment and he explained everything really well. I can’t wait to see what my smile will look like when I’m done here!
