At Ithaca Physical Therapy, we specialize in providing individualized treatment to help you meet your maximum therapeutic potential. We take a hands on approach, using manual therapy to treat a large variety of physical conditions. Let us help you get back to doing the activities you love! Our highly trained Manual Physical Therapists use their hands to improve joint function and allow better, more pain-free movement.

They also have extensive knowledge of exercise and can create a home program to help alleviate joint or muscle problems you may have. In addition to manual therapy and therapeutic exercise, we offer modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound and traction. We also perform dry needling (with or without electrical stimulation), cupping, and lower body NormaTec compression therapy.

Jim became interested in manual therapy while completing his degree at Central Michigan University. He was accepted into a 2-year manual therapy residency program where he received hands on training under Bjorn Svendsen, one of the fore-fathers of manual therapy. Jim passed his residency exam, becoming OMPT certified and worked in Gratiot County for 7 years before opening his own private practice in 2004.
A physician referral is no longer required to begin physical therapy in the state of Michigan, however most insurance companies will not pay for your therapy without one. We routinely send copies of your evaluation and progress notes to your referring physician to keep them informed of your progress in therapy.
