Services
We have 2 tent sites available located next to our store in nice grassy, shade covered area. One tent per site is included in the price. Additional tents may be added at a charge of $10 per night per tent. Each site has a fire pit, picnic table and small charcoal grill. Pull-Thru or Back-In RV sites are all equipped with electric (30/50 AMP), water and sewer.
Whether its catching Walleye, White Bass, Stripers, Catfish, or Small Mouth Bass your sure to have a blast on more than 35,700 surface acres of the clear blue waters at Lake "Mac" McConaughy. Or if you would prefer a trout dinner head to Lake Ogallala. Situated just below Kingsley Dam, this lake is 3.5 mile long and covers about 320 acres.
Nebraska has long been known for its historic trails, which carried early explorers, adventurers and pioneers. Nebraska is now celebrated for its many recreational trails that serve modern adventurers. Hikers can select trails located far from the maddening crowds along lake McConaughy. Ash Hollow just 15 miles from Eagle Canyon Hideaway also has a historical hiking trail.
If Merriam Turkey hunting is your specialty, than look no further. Few outdoor experiences match the exhilaration and challenge of a traditional gobbler hunt. In recent years, about 20,000 archery and shotgun permits have been issued for Nebraska's spring and fall turkey season, and birds have been harvested in 72 of the states 93 counties.
Nearly everything about Lake McConaughy is big! Its 35,700 surface acres make it Nebraska's largest reservoir with over 100 miles of shore line. At full storage, McConaughy is 20 miles long, four miles wide and 142 feet deep at the dam. The dam is among the largest of its type in the world, and the fish grow to trophy proportions, accounting for several state records.

Looks like and excellent place to stay at the lake for families. We just stopped at the little general store here and the employees were super friendly and helpful.

Nice, clean place off the beaten path. Only downside, and it's not their fault, is the quality of beach by the campground. But good clean beach is only a 15-20 minute drive.

The campground itself is great - very clean and quite. The bathhouses are heated, roomy and CLEAN. We were unable to utilize the store (it was closed during our stay). The outdoor checkers and swimming pool looked fun. Staff were very friendly. The only drawback is it is slightly a long journey to get to down a dirt rode with a couple of blind hills.

Nice, clean cabin. Far from lake, even when it isn't down. 100 yards or so from campers, other cabins, office, pool, and playground. Good for family looking for privacy. Not good for family who brought their own skis or boat. Staff was very friendly and more knowledgeable than the kids working gate duty at other parts of the lake. You work at a lake- you should be able to give directions to a boat ramp. Eagle canyon staff knew their guano.

This place was great. The cabins were clean and much roomier than I had expected. They had threw air conditioning turned up so that the cabin was nice and cool. I had expected the pans and utensils provided to be of lower quality but they were pretty decent. There was a gas grill on the covered porch which came in handy as not to heat the indoors area, not to mention the fact that it rained both days and it was pleasant to sit on the deck and watch the rain. The restrooms and showers provided for the use of customers not starting in a cabin with these amenities were nice as well. They sell firewood

Overall the campground is nice and quiet. That being said, it is a little out of the way. The last 1.5 miles is unpaved and hilly. In the dark, be careful of the turns. The owners are very nice and cordial. They kept the pool open longer so my grandsons could use it. They did not have to do that. The bathhouse is clean and well cared for. Some of the downsides... the free wifi is sporadic and not strong. We could not use it, as the routers always needed rebooting. Little or no cell phone coverage. You are in a canyon and it is fairly remote. With all that, my son in law said on the way home, "We

Yes!!! First time taking the kids camping solo, couldn't have been a better campground. Cabins were clean, comfy, had lights and even A/C, store for everything you could need. Perfect kiddie pool, fun water slide, showers & bathroom clean and stocked. A short walk to the lake. All my kids ages 6-9-14 & 17 had fun. Can't wait to come back.

Nice, family friendly campground. Managers Miranda and Lucus bent over backwards to accommodate us and ensure we were comfortable. Plenty on things for the kids to do. Cabins and RV spots were clean and obviously well maintained. Great little place on a beautiful lake!

Super cute cabin. Very clean-stayed in the Timberwolf. Only reason for the drop of one star was the shower which is very short and extremely temperamental. Would go from scalding to freezing in a moment. The stairs to the two loft beds are very very steep and if you were not prepared for it, this could be an issue. The other improvement would be a light switch near the head of the bed as my husband cracked his head on the ceiling when we got into our bed because there was no light. Fun trip overall, nice little beach area. The wifi was not very beneficial

This place is great! We came with about 20 of us in separate cabins. The hospitality is UNMATCHED! Everyone was so nice and helpful, and the breakfast buffet on Sunday morning was delicious! We had a sleeper cabin that suited our needs perfectly, climate controlled and very clean and was very affordable. This was our first time to Lake Mac and the staff was very helpful in telling us where to go for good fishing as well as providing lots of activities and supplies for us. We would love to go back!

We showed up, never being to Lake mac, and expecting a 10 person cabin so stay in for the entire week. The cabin is TINY. We are on top of each other! And 4 of the people are stuck staying up in a loft which is 2 feet tall. I'm on a squeaky couch, and there is one bedroom with a tiny bed expecting for sleep 2 people.
No curtains or blinds on the upper windows, so instead of sleeping in on my vacation, I'm up at 6am everyday with the sun.
One of the blinds is completely missing in the bedroom.
The bathroom is fun-sized, I hope you like squatting when you shower so your head can actually

The lake is inaccessible here -- due to drought and, mostly, irrigation for farming that is draining lakes everywhere. Sand burrs are a bad problem; the manager valiantly fights the battle but plan on getting some. The RV sites are tight, and the water connection is cumbersome. No television signals at all, but I did pick up a slight cell phone signal (Verizon). Not much shade. The manager is very nice and helpful -- he came out looking for us at 10PM. The place is extremely difficult to find at night; there are very few signs, spotty satellite signals, and GPS stops short of the destination

Great place. Clean cabins, fun activities, friendly people. We come every Labor Day and there are a lot of regulars. A little hard to get to , but worth the drive. Store even has a diner. Haven't tried it but nice option.

Last night they had volleyball and a scavenger hunt for the kids! They do a nice job.

This is NOT as promised. No decent lake access, terrible roads, dated lodging, and nowhere near the key areas (like Martin Bay) of Lake Mac. This was by far the worst part of our first ever visit to Lake Mac. Overpriced, dated, bug-infested, and we did not leave on good terms nor did we receive the call back from owners we requested.

Eagle Canyon Rocks!
They're right on Lake Mac with a 'beach' and access to the lake for whatever water craft you bring. They have Tent sites, Pull Thru and back in RV spots with full hook up and sleeper cabins, full cabins that sleep more than 12 and a bath house with 5 or 6 private bath rooms with showers, sinks and toilets that is constantly cleaned and freshened up several times per day.
The General Store has most any basic necessity that you might need for your adventure with an attached restaurant for when you don't want to cook for yourself. The staff is very friendly
