Services
In 1906, Hotels in Fort Scott Ks. were in great need, due in part to the continued development of the growing United States. The Railroads that ran thru Fort Scott were major thoroughfares to the west as well as the North / South passenger and freight lines. It was a fascinating time in our local history.
A shabby chic lover's dream! Formerly the innkeeper's quarters, our premier king room offers "chippy, " rustic furnishings that deliver comfort and attractive functionality. A modern step-in shower, mini refrigerator, recliner, flat-screen television and king-sized bed offer taste of luxury in this room that, otherwise, allows you to briefly take a step back in time.
Experience the best with a step back to the Old West! Capturing the spirit and ambiance of the era, this room's main focus is a jaw-dropping, western-inspired four-poster queen-sized bed. Old-fashioned wallpaper and linens, along with various iron stars, complement the room's antique furnishings and unique style.
Comfortable elegance comes with a modestly-decorated room inspired by the simplicity of an era gone by. Antique furnishings, a skirted vanity and a cozy full-sized bed welcome visitors. Renovated from its original 1906 size, modern conveniences were added and include a private bathroom with a tub/shower combination and a flat-screen television.
Charm, comfort and class - along with versatility! Easily accommodating three guests, this unique room offers a full-sized bed and a twin-sized bed to keep your options flexible for family members or friends. Enhanced to include the modern conveniences, it features a bath with a tub/shower combination, flat-screen television, a mini refrigerator and a small desk/vanity.

If your looking for an awesome place to stay for the night, come visit the Courtland. Your not going to find an elevator, rude housekeeping or any other big time hotel chain issues. We spent the night, we felt like kings, greeted in the upmost personal attention and completely enjoyed our stay. This is a time machine to the early 1900’s, with the amenities of a large hotel chain (internet, indoor plumbing, air conditioning, fresh coffee), but waking up back in time. The staff, which are the owners, work hard to give you the most pleasant experience, personalized, humerus and just great to hang

I have stayed at the Courtland 20 or so times for business. This hotel is a gem and would be a great destination for anyone taking a trip to Fort Scott. Frank is a wealth of local historical and local knowledge as well as a great proprietor. Beds are super comfortable. Treat yourself to one of the larger suites which are very spacious!

We had a very enjoyable overnight stay at the Courtland. Owners are friendly and extremely hospitable and it truly felt like we were guests in their home. Rooms are cozy but clean and comfortable. Nice firm bed! Frank is an incredible story-teller, making local history come alive. The Courtland is reason itself to return to Ft. Scott. Easy parking and a handful of tasty restaurants just 1-2 blocks away.

Frank and Cheryl have a hidden jewel. If you are tired of staying in the same types of hotels then this is the choice you need to make. The hotel was built in 1906 and has the ambiance of this time period with the convenience of today's world. The price to stay is similar as the other hotels and it includes a continental breakfast. Frank and Cheryl want you to feel at home and are wonderful people to chat with and learn about Ft Scott.

We stayed on our way to pick up our daughter at camp. This place is truly a hidden gem in a small town. I can't say enough. The staff is very kind and they go out of their way to make you feel welcomed. It is obvious that they are proud of the hotel as well as they should be. Our room was cute and very quaint and was just perfect for what we needed. The price was cheaper then all of the cookie cutter places around town but worth so much more.
The next time we travel to Fort Scott this will be the only place we will stay.

When it comes to service, I have high standards. And, while my expectations are sometimes met, they are NEVER exceeded. Or rather, were never exceeded. Until I stayed at the Courtland Hotel. Words like friendly, accomodating, and helpful do not even begin to adequately illustrate the level of service I have enjoyed during my two days' stay at this historic hotel. I am picky. I like nice hotels. The staff at The Courtland were so amazing that one, I felt like a VIP, and two, I didn't care that my room was microscopic and lacked certain ammeneties that are standard in most hotels today

We stayed at the Courtland Hotel while in Ft. Scott during the Thanksgiving week. We actually stayed here twice. Once while traveling east to Missouri then again on our way back west back to Colorado. Frank and Cheryl are the owners and they will make you feel at home. It's price well and while you are there you should walk through the downtown of Historic Ft. Scott. Furthermore, you should stop by Cheryl's spa and take part in the offerings there. When we are in Ft. Scott again, we will definitely stay at the Courtland.

As near to perfect an experience as I've had at a hotel.
Service was top-notch and personal. Frank, the innkeeper, knew everything we asked him about, and even helped us amend our directions for traveling to our next destination after we checked out.
The hotel is utterly classic. Walking into the lobby is like stepping back in time to the early twentieth century. Our room was small but never felt cramped; the bed and super-plush carpeting were both incredibly comfortable.
Staying at the Courtland was a truly wonderful experience that left me looking for ways to extend our stay. If you
