Our philosophy is based on the belief that children are always learning. Whether they are being rocked to sleep, singing a song at circle time or being soothed after a fall, they are learning. Our goal is to ensure that they are learning that the world is safe, kind and full of wonder when they are with us! We believe that if children form trusting relationships with loving caregivers and are exposed to a variety of fun and enriching experiences, they will thrive!
Services
ABC Children's Center began serving area families in 1993 with a handful of staff and children. Today, we have grown to two locations with a combined staff of over 30 teachers who care for more than 200 children. ABC is family owned and operated and our clients can rest assured that the ownership of ABC is actively involved on a daily basis with both centers to ensure the quality of the program.
ABC aims to meet the social, emotional, physical and cognitive needs of each child in a safe, nurturing environment. The curricula that we use is based on the most up-to-date research in the field of early learning and was written by leaders in early childhood education and development. As a non-denominational Christian center, Bible-based values, stories, songs, and activities are also a part of our program.
This wonderful building, custom designed by an architect experienced in childcare design, is nestled among trees in a park-like setting. Flooded with natural light and child friendly features, our clean, beautifully furnished classrooms have plenty of space for children to enjoy their daily activities and are equipped with bathrooms and child-sized sinks.
ABC's University Drive location is minutes from Penn State University and downtown State College. The spacious, attractively furnished classrooms have large windows that allow the sunlight to pour in and offer plenty of space for children to play and move freely. A conviction ABC has always held is that smaller class sizes are more conducive to learning, nurturing relationships and a peaceful, relaxed atmosphere.

Truly an exceptional daycare and preschool. My kids are now 10 and 13 and still remember their time at ABC Day Care. I truly believe that my kids have excelled in school due to the early education they received by these well-educated teachers. I had peace of mind every day that I had to drop my children off at this daycare. These women put their heart and souls into loving, nurturing and educating my kids. Even though we now live in Chicago, we still keep in contact with our kids friends who they met at ABC.

ABC is a wonderful daycare. What makes the daycare so special are the owners and the wonderful teachers they employ. My son John has gone to ABC for 8 years. After he started school we continued to bring him there for summer daycare. We have lived in Pleasant Gap for a long time and choose to keep him at ABC in Grays Woods rather than a closer… school because of the wonderful care he receives there. I would never trade the convenience of not having to travel because of the trust I have in ABC that my son is happy and being cared for properly. I would recommend this daycare to everyone.

My son started at ABC when he was 4 months old (now nearly 8 years old!) and my daughter has been there since she was 8 weeks old (now in Pre-K). Every day has been a fantastic experience for my children. Troy and Amy go out of their way to plan wonderful events for the children. While I am sad that my daughter will be leaving their program to start Kindergarten in August, we are looking forward to continuing our relationship through their summer camp which my son absolutely loves!
