They do not updated their primary care provider list even though it supposedly a very extensive process. Customer service representative generally don't listen to what you are asking and therefore are unable to provide good service. I constantly fight with them over covered benifits and prescription cost are high. Overall dissatisfied and not sure why I pay them $200+ dollars a month.
Update: As of 01/05/2022 service has not improved and when calling the customer service line the
representative hangs up before allowing a response or you to provide your name. This is after the wait time has increased

One woman transferred me to a wonderful woman named Shandler/Chandler? -and this whole process took only 5 minutes!!! I thought it was going to take forever especially calling in as a member, but when I asked for a list of a few items to be emailed to me, I was asked info to verify who I am, which made me feel safe and then helped so quickly and respectfully. I don’t know why this branch has such a low score but it definitely deserves more than 2. Thank you PHP for helping me so swiftly and politely!

What is the point of having insurance when nothing is covered by insurance. This is supposed to be a good plan, and I can’t get coverage for anything in the metro Detroit area. The entire website says there’s coverage but it’s out of date and completely wrong. It’s impossible to get anyone to do their job over there because no one cares.

I would give Physicians Health Plan zero stars if I could. They are a disaster of a company.
PHP's directory of doctors is always out of date. I chose my insurance plan under the impression that my doctors were covered. Later, these doctors’ offices let me know that they had broken the partnership with PHP months before I even was shopping for insurance.
Currently, they still have doctors listed that don't accept my insurance. It's like a bait and switch scheme...with no switch.
Many of the doctors/physicians groups have told me that they don't work with PHP anymore because they weren't getting

Their website sucks. I was trying to help my parents manage thier insurance better. I can not log in or register on MyPhp Portal using my information. customer service not available on the weekends. When I called customer service, before she even listened to me, she wanted to advice me how to pay without registering! Of course I already paid and know. Otherwise, I would not receive the card! Anyway, following her instruction, now it says " Not a resistered user". Come on! That's why I am trying to register. I have filled out online support twice and am yet to hear anything by email or phone

I cannot say enough negative things about PHP. My wife and I were PHP members for over 3 years, and each new month seemed to bring another disaster with PHP.
At the time of writing this review (July, 2012), we have had two bills outstanding that PHP is legally obligated to pay - we have all of the supporting documentation - and they refuse to do so. Both bills are related to the way that they contract out their behavioral health services to United Behavioral Health.
Each time we call, they promise to fix the issue and call us after it's complete. Neither of us have ever received a return call
