I'm so glad you are visiting my website. Let me tell you a little about myself. I was born in 1959 and graduated from Dumas High School in 1977. Even though I've lived in the Texas panhandle most of my life, I went to undergraduate school at the University of Southwestern Louisiana (Ragin' Cajun) in the early to mid '80's.
Did you know that chiropractic dates back to the time of Hippocrates? He believed that if the spine was misaligned, it greatly contributed to the health of an individual. The modern day school of chiropractic dates back to 1895, when Dr. Daniel Palmer adjusted a man that had lost his hearing 17 years prior.
Going to the chiropractor is a new experience for many of us. Maybe we've heard through a friend or have done some research online. It's possible that you are just fed up with living in pain and it's time to do something about it. In either case, your first visit to the chiropractor will really be about getting to know the chiropractor and discussing your history, current condition and goals.
It has been a fundamental position that chiropractic adjustments deal with the nervous system. Most chiropractors today describe an adjustment as the minor movement of vertebrae in the spine that can bring both proper alignment and mobility to the spine. The objective of this movement is to realign vertebrae that have moved out of place.
