But I never set out to be a photographer. I was (and still am!) going to be a writer. And then as I worked toward that writing goal, someone put a camera in my hand and asked me to try telling stories with something besides words. So with an English nerd's love for character and tone, a romantic's love for poignant beauty, and a realist's love for imperfection, I dove in.
Since that time, photography has changed much of my life. It's brought me some of my dearest friends. It's reshaped the way my husband Danny and I view serving others. It has even literally taken me around the world. One thing that hasn't changed: my soul-stirring desire to tell stories that feel so real you're sure you knew them before you heard them.

I'm partial. This amazing woman is my best friend. She photographed my own wedding while being in it at the same time. She has done family portraits for us on multiple occasions. Her work is beautiful; her character is even more so. If you're looking for family portraits, this is the photographer you want.

I loved Laura Yang's photos of our family!! We have a fairly large family and Laura did a beautiful job. She especially was wonderful photographing our 6 young grandchildren. She had so much patience with them and captured their essence. When I went through the photos, before I knew it, I had marked them all as my favorite. I would highly recommend Laura Yang if you are looking for a family portrait.

Laura was WONDERFUL! We all were able to relax and just have fun while she captured our memories on film! The beach was beautiful and she knew the perfect places to catch the evening light, the lighthouse and sand dunes. Being from up North, we didn't have the full scope of what we wanted, but she talked with us, got to know us and then took our breath away with her work! Thank you so much Laura!!

I contacted Laura VERY last minute to see if she could do a photo shoot at my house. She responded quickly and was very flexible regarding scheduling. She is professional and managed my extended family with ease. The pictures she took were beautiful!
Unlike other photographers that I have used in the past, Laura lets you keep and download all of the photographs on the website at no additional charge. We will be using her again in the future. She is highly recommended.

Laura is a wonderful person to work with! She is so knowledgeable and helped me so much while I planned my elopement. I live in Tennessee and she helped me by recommending my makeup artist (who was great!) and also a venue for my reception/dinner. Hurricane Matthew hit the area my elopement took place 5 days before my wedding day. She was in constant contact with me to update me on damage since I live so far away. She told me that she was willing to travel to a different location if we needed to in order to capture my wedding. Luckily, we were able to keep our original place so that wasn't necessary

If you're just looking for fantastic photos of your day, Laura and her husband Danny more than fit the bill--their work is incredible beyond words. If you're looking for someone to help you through the stresses of planning and making it through your day, someone who can be professional while making you laugh and look incredible, interact with your guests/family/crazy friends while making every shot look like it came out of a magazine, I honestly believe Laura Yang Photography should be your first choice! I always worry about how my photos are going to come out and tend to 'over-pose

Laura and Danny were the perfect photographers in every way. You can tell that they truly care about each and every couple they work with. Laura took the time to explain everything in great detail and thoughtfully answered all my silly questions. They had no problem with our somewhat unusual wedding. My husband and I didn't want the fuss of a huge wedding but having amazing pictures still meant a lot to us.
