Shear Envy Salon first opened its doors in April of 2010. Started by Amber Moyer who had a sincere passion to help people take pride in their selves and build up their self-confidence built her business model around pampering their clients.

Hair care personally conceived, developed and formulated without compromise by John Sahag. The precise action of each individual product respects the natural integrity of hair and eliminates any and all possible problems that could get in the way of the creative process. Amber and her entire team are AMAZING!!! I saw her after having a terrible experience with extensions at another salon. My previous stylist had recommended the wrong type of extensions for my hair which turned into a disaster. I went to see Amber and she recommended sew-in extensions and I am so glad she did! I’ve had several different types of extensions and the sew in she did is hands down my favorite!! I’ve had them in about 3 months now. The salon itself is glamorously decorated and makes you feel pampered just being there. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is very welcoming and laid back. Amber is a truly talented stylist. She is a rare find, she gave me a detailed assessment of my individual hair. She was able to give me exactly what I wanted, in just one sitting, all while leaving my hair healthier and better for it!

I have had my hair styled/colored here for the last three years. I've always struggled to find a stylist and I'm so happy I finally found this salon. I apologize in advance for these pictures. I am a senior at Mississippi State prepping for my last formal and semi formal this weekend. I had gotten spray tans in previous years from this location and thought they could provide the same level of service. I was incorrect in this assumption.

I'm so thankful for Shear Envy, I don't even know where to start! Amber, the owner, is super friendly but most of all.. she's very knowledgeable and is always continuing her education and staying up-to-date on all the new techniques and trends! You can definitely tell she has a passion for this. She cares more about the client and the health/wellbeing of their hair rather just getting your money! Her staff and the treatment overall is amazing and top of the line.

I went to Shear Envy because I heard good things. The ladies there are super nice however I went there pretty consistently for months trying to get blonde. They kept telling me we had to do it one step at a time and i was cool with that, however, There was no progress and I walked out with the same highlights (not anywhere near blonde) every time. Paid lots of money and didn't end up blonde at all from November to around February. Went to a new girl and she made my hair a pretty shade of blonde in one trip. Maybe they can do better on someone elses hair, however I did not have a good experience

I was recommended this salon by a friend and although they were friendly I paid $160 for purple tipped hair that no one could even see. They told me I would have to come back for additional appointments to keeping the color, but it didn't even show up and I feel that it was over charged. Two days later it just looked like I had blonde/gray highlights.

I absolutely love my hair! It was exactly what I wanted and more so. Everything exceeded my expectations from the quality of service and the professionalism, to how quickly they got me in and out with exactly what I wanted. Not only was I impressed with their vision for the style I desired, but they made me feel like family like a beauty salon should. They even took care of my friend who had to sit and wait on me for about an hour. Everything about Shear Envy was perfect and I would recommend it to anyone.

I gave them a second chance because my stylist was nice and she is still nice, but this time I went in for just a cut and they didn't shampoo or style my hair, which I thought was strange. She started cutting and I just assumed she was taking a little off before she washed it. I am a thirty five year old woman and I have never had a cut without a wash and style and assume that this would only happen if you specifically asked not to have it done. I am new to the area and not from here and was in need of a good haircut. After weighing my options, I chose Shear Envy. I walked in without and appointment an hour before closing on a Saturday and was told that they were running behind but would still be able to get me in but it would be a short wait. I happily waited as I had no prior engagements and they would be doing me the favor. The receptionist, Tina, and only stylist, Summer, were both extremely friendly and accommodating. I used to live in LA before I moved here, so I was nervous about finding a place that was up to par with my expectations. Luckily I found this place and I love it. I get my hair cut with Brandy and she has always done a fabulous job. I like when I can show my hair stylist a photo and she can adjust it to work with my hair type, and Brandy nails it every time. The last time I was there, one of the other stylists (not sure which one) was fixing a girl's hair because she had tried dyeing it on her own and fried it. I was amazed at the final result - she looked fabulous. I'm not sure

I came in from out of town & needed my hair done before a wedding. My appointment was on a Friday. (The wedding was Saturday) I was a little skeptical at first. I didn't think I would get the color I wanted to be honest. Im very picky with who does my hair. I had the ombre trend going on. So there was 3 different colors in my hair not including damage I had from bleaching it platinum blonde last summer. I wanted to go like a Jessica Simpson golden blonde with the pale blonde highlights. Amber was nice & personable. Most stylists complain about the thickness of my hair which is annoying
