Saint Helena Cemetery is 25 acres located in the heart of the Napa Valley. Established as a private cemetery in 1856 by William Hudson, this non-profit nondenominational cemetery has been under the guidance of a Board of Directors since 1872. This Spring Street cemetery is a beautiful and tranquil park rich in California and local history. The passage of time has created a landscape where the lives of Napa Valley's founding families, individuals great and small, honored and forgotten, are commemorated.
Services
Mr. William Hudson established this private family cemetery in 1856 with the burial of his wife Sarah Hudson. In 1872, daughter Mary Hudson McCormick, donated the original six acres for the purpose of a town cemetery. After a notice was posted in the local newspaper, the St. Helena Starr, citizens met at the town hall intending to form a cemetery association.
The Saint Helena Cemetery provides complete service options for full burial and cremation memorials. In addition to traditional ground burials, we offer single crypt entombments, private ground cremation interments, niche inurnments, and a cremation ossuary in our newly developed Serenity Memorial Park.
Whether it's fall colors or spring flowers, there is always something new at Saint Helena Cemetery. Here is a sample of our projects. Each November the St. Helena Historical Society tour showcases the lives and history of different individuals at rest in the cemetery. Please contact the cemetery office for details.
