Services
As well as being a SWAM business, GECO is also certified as a Micro-Business. Our team of personnel possesses environmental capabilities in the areas of environmental restoration, compliance, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), cultural resources, storm water management and data reporting.
Restoration/Cleanup Program: GECO personnel have had tremendous success managing environmental restoration and cleanup programs for the military. Our unique experience, familiarity with the process and existing relationships with VDEQ and EPA Region III personnel help our clients attain a cost effective and timely solution to their restoration goals.
Conservation Program: Our staff has received training from the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) on erosion and sediment control practices. GECO understands the importance that DMA and Fort Pickett place on E&S issues and can assist with the design and implementation of erosion and sediment control plans and best management practices (BMPs).
Cultural Resources Management: GECO personnel have extensive experience completing cultural resource management (CRM) projects in a timely and responsive manner on military lands and DMA properties in particular. Our unique experience with DMA cultural resources and familiarity with the NHPA and SHPO regulatory process helps our clients attain a cost effective and timely solution to their cultural resource goals.
Environmental Compliance Program: GECO provides interpretation and application of all environmental regulations to ensure that our clients meet or exceed federal, state and local requirements concerning compliance management. GECO was contracted to remove and close numerous USTs at Virginia Army National Guard locations across the Commonwealth of Virginia.
