Individual therapy (sometimes called "psychotherapy" or "counseling") is a process through which clients work one-on-one with a trained therapist-in a safe, caring, and confidential environment-to explore their feelings, beliefs, or behaviors, work through challenging or influential memories, identify aspects of their lives that they would like to change, better understand themselves and others, set personal goals, and work toward desired change.
Children tend to communicate more easily through their behaviors and play. With this idea in mind Forest Bluff Counseling offers a therapeutic play room for children to be able to more easily address any complex emotional or behavioral difficulties. Children can choose from a multitude of tools to aid them in thinking, feeling and doing better.
Family therapy is a type of psychological counseling (psychotherapy) that helps family members improve communication and resolve conflicts. Family therapy is often short term. It may include all family members or just those able or willing to participate. Your specific treatment plan will depend on your family's situation.
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is one of our expertise. In the United States, it is estimated that 1 in 40 adults and 1 in 100 children have OCD. OCD does not discriminate between ages, genders or ethnicities and it is best described as intrusive thoughts (obsessions) which result in repetitive behaviors (compulsion) that takes up at least an hour a day and cause significant distress to the person experiencing it.
Anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness in the U.S as they affect about 40 million people. Some types of Anxiety Disorders include Social Phobia, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Panic Disorders, Agoraphobia, Specific Phobias and Separation Anxiety.

I highly recommend Forest Bluff Counseling, especially if you’re looking for someone who is caring, relatable and empathetic. We were in need of counseling for our eight year old son who was struggling with obsessive health- related thoughts. Our son came out of his session with such a positive attitude and so relieved and excited because someone was able to finally understand him and help him explain why he was feeling the way he was. Diana Flores went above and beyond to accommodate our needs, provided us the education and support that our son and we, as parents needed. I’m extremely
