Big fan of this place for years. In particular, I often stock up on the candles and diffusers, which are attractive, have tightly crafted scents, and are reasonably priced.
The staff is always quite helpful and it’s a great place to pick up gifts. The building is a stunner, especially as the leaves on the brick exterior change in the fall.
I haven’t tried their wellness services but it looks refined, clean, and relaxing.

The Cold Spring Apothecary and Wellness House is my favorite go to spot in all of Putnam County! They have everything I need, from hand and body lotions, to the BEST scented candles, and hair products that make people’s heads turn (I bow down to their citrus & ginger sea salt spray, especially in the summer). Their products are all natural and leave me feeling refreshed and like I care about myself. If you’re considering visiting, I dare you to do it!!!!!

I visited in person once in 2019 after a hike nearby, and ever since then I’ve ordered multiple gifts from Cold Spring Apothecary. Their website is fantastic and shipping is always quick and easy. I’m a huge fan of their products, and the people I’ve purchased gifts for love them as well! The black pepper tobacco candle is my absolute favorite, and I’m really grateful for helping me get all my last minute Christmas gifts in on time. Big love for this place!

The most expensive, and WORST, haircut I've ever had. I walked out of there with damp hair, looking like washed up old spinster, and my hair smelled like some witches brew of incense, patchouli, kombucha and cow dung. I immediately went home and washed it out just so I could breathe.
I also didn't like having my hair done in a fishbowl where every person walking by peers in the window at you in the process of beautification, or uglification as I experienced. Sun was streaming in the windows makes the whole place feel like an oven. No wonder my hair wouldn't dry.

Walked in for coffee 15 minutes before this place closed and the kid behind the register told me they were totally closed down. Asked if they could sell us a bag of coffee, and he informed us the register was also closed. Asked if he know if there was anywhere else we could buy beans in Cold Springs and he wordlessly shrugged and looked at us. Super rude and defensive. Bummed to have such a negative experience in what seems like the best coffee place in town.

Bought about $40 worth of products then asked to use the bathroom. Woman behind the cosmetic counter gave me a tangled explanation about why there is no public rest room: something having to do with the number of seats in the adjacent coffee shop??? Meanwhile, the guy behind the coffee shop was smirking at me and my sister.
There are plenty of places I can buy similar products. I won't be back.

I was a little nervous going into CSA for a haircut because it was my first time trying them out (and it would be an expensive mistake if the results weren't what I hoped for). I love all of their room sprays & candles - they last for a very long time.
Their face cleansers are really hreat too all organic!
I wish theres a store like them in nyc.
