Kirk's Bike Shop was established in 1865 in the same block in downtown Muncie as our current location. The first bikes sold were the "high-wheel" bikes which predate the automobile. Kirk's was for a long time purveyor of Schwinn Bicycles. Bill Boothby in the mid-1970's started a business known as The Outdoor Store which sold Trek Bicycles in addition to canoes and camping gear.
The Outdoor Store later closed and B&B Campus Bikes became the local dealer for Trek bicycles. In 1999, B&B Campus Bike Shop and Kirk's Bike Shop were combined and for a short time known as B&B Kirk's Bike Shop. To coincide with our move back to downtown Muncie in 2003, we adopted the name that has served Delaware and surrounding counties since 1865-Kirk's Bike Shop.

One of our service pros will discuss your bicycle with you and carefully explain what we recommend, always respecting your choices and your budget. Kirk's service staff is professionally trained and certified to work on all bicycle makes and models, not just the ones we sell.

If you're buying a bike to ride with a group of friends buy something similar to what they ride. Unless you're super fit, you won't be able to keep up with road bikes if you're on a mountain bike or cruiser. And a road bike can't handle trail riding like a machine made for it. If you enjoyed a 3-speed as a child, you may find this a fun bike again.

A lot of people buy bicycles never intending to ride after dark and then sometimes find themselves pedaling home after the sun's gone down. This is dangerous because you're almost invisible to drivers and you can't see hazards that could cause a crash. It's also illegal and you could be ticketed should a cop spot you.

There is a reason Kirk's Bike Shop has been around since 1865. They have a great product and excellent customer service. I recently got back into cycling and wanted to get a bike for my wife. I found a used Trek online at Kirk's Bike Shop and inquired about it. Jason responded promptly and answered my questions. The next morning I drove from Dayton Ohio to Kirk's to look at the bike. It was a two hour drive, but well worth it. We purchased the bike at a very reasonable price. Thanks again to Jason and team for all your help. Another satisfied customer.

I was looking for a Trek marlin 5 xl mountain bike to ride the trails this summer and could not find one in my city(Ft Wayne) at my local shop.
I searched for registered dealers in Indiana and am so glad I found Kirk's.
I gave him a call and he gave me all his inventory over the phone and was nice enough to hold the one I wanted until the next day when I could get there. I drove down from Ft Wayne 1 1/2 hour drive the next day to pick up, I was greeted by knowledgeable sales man and then finished the deal with Kirk with a very generous 10% off the kickstand I wanted and he even threw in

I was shopping for a new bike. I had been to several shops and the employees had no interest whatsoever in helping me. I traveled 1 hour to Kirks bikes and was greeted with very friendly and knowledgeable salespeople! I found the bicycle I wanted . They fit the bike for proper seat height etc. the experience was wonderful. I will drive a hour to shop there in the future.

Had a great experience at Kirk's. My mother and I wanted to get a bicycle for my fiancée this Christmas. Dave is the man: extremely helpful and nice. He helped us pick out a great bike, got her fitted for it and even helped us load it up in the truck. I live in Bloomington, but I'll probably make a point to shop at Kirk's when I'm in the neighborhood because the service was so exceptional.
