This is therapy for women who are anxious, running on empty, heartbroken, or just not where they imagined they would be at this point in their lives. You're the one who keeps choosing the wrong relationship, over and over again. You feel stuck in a career that doesn't reflect your true passion or align with your values.

Maybe you're a mother, your children are starting to get older and need you less, and with that comes separation, waves of sadness and feelings of, "What now?" You feel lost and more than a little purposeless. Perhaps you're farther along on your journey: the kids are now entering the throes of adolescence or young adulthood, and you are living with the tension and upheaval of teen years, or the wide open space of empty nests.
Services
Welcome to Summit Psychology, PLLC, the private practice of Jeanne A. Layne, PhD. I'm a clinical psychologist located in Trenton, Michigan, and I serve the metro Detroit and downriver communities. I'm a therapist with a contagious sense of humor, I love a good coincidence, I'll take a strong cup of coffee any day over tea, and I'm something of a planner.
The daily juggling act, being all things to all people, that stressful place between parenting and caring for aging parents. An individualized therapy is one of the most important investments you will make, and one of the best predictors of a successful outcome is the goodness of fit between you and your therapist.
Hello, I am Dr. Jeanne Layne. I'm a clinical psychologist, but you might also call me a self-care strategist. I help women who feel stretched so thin that they really can't recall the last moment they had to themselves. I once had a patient refer to this as being "ground down to a nub." Outwardly, they often look like put-together moms, devoted caretakers, willing volunteers and glass-ceiling shatterers.
Sometimes asking for help is difficult. It can be made even more difficult when we're not feeling like our best selves. Maybe you're not functioning as well as you usually do. Perhaps tasks that used to feel easy now feel overwhelming, and that's scary. If you're considering therapy, especially for the first time, you might be feeling nervous, vulnerable, uncertain, even ashamed.
