My uncles services for Virgilio Oliva was handled very unprofessional by the female coordinator working it for 2/28/2021. Viewing was scheduled for 11-1pm followed by burial to Glen Abbey 2pm. 12:30 pm she was already pushing us out of the mortuary patio while we were having our reception. They pushed us out early which made us too early at the cemetery. Glen Abbey coordinator apologized for us for standing around for 20 minutes because burial was not supposed to start until 2pm. Our whole entire family and friends felt so disrespected by the Community Staff in duty that day (2/28/2021

Very professional and compassionate business in Chula Vista. Dolores helped our family through all of the steps for my Father's service and burial at Miramar National Cemetery. This mortuary is smaller than some and family-owned. There was no sales pressure, and our family's wishes were met in our time of need.

Customer service was terrible! The owner was rude and always changed the story! When we were there for my stepdad's funeral people were waiting outside and she was late 30 minutes. She said that we agreed it would start at 5, but that wasn't true, it was even on the contract. But when it was time to leave they were rushing us. Next day it was the same thing she was late again. My stepdad's casket was a bit small for him so she offered a casket that was damaged and we didn't had time to find a new one so we agreed that she would keep the one we bought and we would take the damaged

When my Dad passed we secured the services of another mortuary. After a BAD experience with that mortuary we sought a new mortuary when my Mom passed. The treatment we got from Community was outstanding. They went above and beyond to help us with a double internment. In a time of great stress, they stepped up and helped make a difficult time easier. God Bless.

My father passed away suddenly and sadly none of his immediate family lived in California. We went with community mortuary after the director assured us after the cremation they would "store" my father at their premises for a few weeks until the actual service. She said "no problem."
I emailed her a couple of weeks later asking if I could send a few urns and have my fathers ashes separated...she again said "no problem."
The next day I get an email saying they have shipped my father to Florida...my sister who was already very distraught received him at her doorstep

Great local family owned company, not owned by the mob. Very caring, warm and friendly. Everything low key which really helps at the time of need.

This review is way past due. I was going thru some paperwork from when my father passed in February and was recalling how great Community Mortuary was in handling the services we required of them. My father had purchased a burial type insurance policy w/them several years ago. When he passed, all I had to do was call and show up. There were a few papers to sign, but aside from that, it was so easy and at the time, easy was what i needed. They did a cremation service for me and then had the remains sent to his final burial spot where we had the service. I ordered some memorial cards to be made

I have nothing but good comments for the way everything was handled for my father's funeral. Called them from the hospital and made arrangements for them to pick up my father's body after his passing. They took care of everything with nothing but respect. They took care of transporting the body to the church for the memorial service and then to Fort Rosecrans for my Dad's military honor interment. My Dad had his funeral arrangements taken care of for him and my Mother ahead of time, so there were no extra costs for us to take care of, except for the extra death certificates and the

I recently used the services of Community Mortuary. I chose this mortuary for its location and due to my desire to support the local businessman, expecting to get a higher level of attention to detail and caring service than from a "mega store or global corporation" (from their website).

Firstly, I want to say that the presentation of the deceased for the viewing was very nice and appeared to be very professional. The cosmetologist and mortician did a very fine job. The appearance of my wife in the casket was very much like the picture provided. This is the only reason for giving the

It is unfortunate that I have to write this review, but due to the level of service they've provided I owe them this much! Community Mortuary is run by Robert and Dolores Humphrey. Robert's father retired and sold his business to a large corporation where Robert went on to work. After a short while Robert decided he missed the level of service they were able to provide and re-opened the family business under its current name. While there is a Humphrey's mortuary a block away they are not related to the Humphrey family and do not provide the same level of service. When my mother passed
