It's never too early to help a child develop confidence-in themselves, in their ability to learn, in their determination to overcome obstacles. The lessons they learn at this young age can transform their lives. This is our most basic instruction. We'll teach your little ones the foundations of movement and coordination, as well as how to listen and follow directions.
This won't come as a shock to any parents: children aren't born understanding self control or focus. Those are invaluable characteristics that have to be taught and practiced. That's why most child psychologists recommend martial arts or karate training as an activity for children. They'll learn how to control their movements and practice the intricate steps of karate.
Beginner Kenpo can build your child's self esteem and discipline as they prepare to enter some of the most formative years in their lives. American Kenpo or Kenpo Karate, is an updated system of martial arts based on modern day self-defense that is logical and practical. Innovative Martial Arts Academy does not teach for tournaments.

IMAA is a great karate dojo in Wake Forest. They have helped my 4 year old daughter focus, learn self respect, and learn to love being active while teaching the basics of being a lil'ninja. The owner is former military and really cares for the development of the kids in the class.
The pricing is great as well as we can go to an unlimited number of classes per week for the same price that other dojos are charging for 1 class per week.

This place is great! Charles and his team have fantastic programs for kids. When we started our 3.5 year old son, I didn’t know what to expect. He quickly adapted to the classes and now loves going. Our 2 year old son loves watching and will start as well as soon as he turns 3. Innovative Martial arts also hosted their birthday parties. The kids had a blast doing different activities throughout the birthday party. Can’t say enough good things about this place, and what they teach!

My son has adhd as well as some other issues. He has been having a really ROUGH time in school. My husband brought him here after having to pick him up early one day and decided to sign him up for classes. I was hesitant because I didn't want it to seem like we were rewarding him, but after having him in classes here for the last couple weeks, the change we have seen is astonishing. He is doing better in school, his therapist and psychiatrist both agreed this was a great idea. The teachers here are AWESOME! I would strongly recommend them to anyone. And another bonus it helps him fall asleep at

Wonderful place for not only skill development but also personal development. Owner and instructors genuinely get to know students and families and care about them. The lessons learned will provide character growth as well as martial art skills. The owner is also a long time student of many different martial arts, he didn't just buy a franchise, and tries very hard to live what he teaches the students. Proud to have been in this dojo family for 6+ years and proud of the friendships we have made there!

We have had two children go through the program at IMAA. The instructors are extremely knowledgeable and professional. The dojo balances serious martial arts with a warm, family-like atmosphere in which all children are known and related to individually. We'd never go anywhere else. If you're thinking about martial arts, come to IMAA!

Innovative Martial Arts Academy (IMAA) is the best place to take martial arts. Charles Falk, the owner, and his staff do a great job teaching martial arts to the students and teaching each student to be confident and disciplined. My son has been with IMAA for eight years - he has earned one black belt and is working on his second. :)

Great school with wonderful teachers. My daughter has a great time learning and everyone is friendly. There is even an adult class that allowed me to try to see if I liked it and everyone was very patient with me. I am thankful to have my daughter be a part of the Innovative Martial Arts Academy in Wake Forest and know she is benefiting from it in more than one way. It amazes me how fast she is learning and how hard she is trying. They have her trying to develop at her fullest with her mind, body, and spirit. I would recommend this school to anyone interested in martial arts.

Charles has the best martial arts program. He is a very talented instructor and has years of wisdom to share with his students. His vast knowledge of all these martial arts ( tae kwon do, aikido, aikijutsu, jujitsu, kenpojutsu, muay thai kickboxing, kali, boxing, and jeet kun do) lets me know I have chosen the right place.
