We have designed our Web site to provide information about the services we offer to your family and our community. We welcome and appreciate any comments or suggestions regarding our services. Haggard Funeral Home is proud to be celebrating our 116th anniversary this year. We appreciate the trust our families have placed in us since our beginning in 1903.

This experience, combined with appropriate investment in facility and staff, is the reason why generations of families keep coming back to use our funeral home. Creating a meaningful, appropriate memorial can be a rewarding, healing experience - a chance to express what life has meant to you and the people you love.
Services
In 1903, Mr. G.T. Haggard established the Haggard Furniture Company in downtown Jefferson on Austin Street, after graduating from Sam Houston Normal Institute. Mr. Haggard not only sold furniture but also sold caskets out of his store, which is now River City Mercantile. In 1908 he became a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer, doing most of the embalming in the home and having the funerals at the residence or in a church.
When planning a service, you have many options available to you and we will do all that we can to provide a beautiful and respectful ceremony. No matter your choice, we can offer you a space to join with family and friends in grief, comfort and love. And above all, we will do our utmost to honor your loved one.
Our beautiful funeral home is nestled in the heart of Jefferson, located close to the downtown historic district of Jefferson and filled with lovely antiques and beautiful antique oriental rugs. The charm of the late 1800's and early 1900's are still within these walls. We strive very hard to keep our funeral homes charm with her original luster.
When it comes to your final arrangements, shouldn't you make the decisions? The arrangements you make will reflect your exact wishes and desires. Pre-arranging your own service will help to ease the burden of your loved ones. It will also alleviate any questions, problems or differences, which can occur among family members.
The basic Military Funeral Honors (MFH) ceremony consists of the folding and presentation of the United States flag to the veterans' family and the playing of Taps. The ceremony is performed by a funeral honors detail consisting of at least two members of the Armed Forces. The Funeral Honors rendered to you or your veteran will be determined by the status of the veteran.

During this very difficult time for us, we were treated with the deepest respect and consideration. They allowed us to take our time to say goodbye and were extremely patient. Also, they helped us to work within our budget and did not try to upsell us on any of their services or products. I can not say anything but praise for this funeral home. This was my 3rd family member to lose in the last 32 months - one here, one in Louisiana, and one in Georgia. This was the most professional, caring services of the three. I would highly recommend them to anyone that needs to care for their deceased love
