Services
BOA is family run and family oriented. Jeff and Pattie Parsons raised their four children in Bethel and are experts in Maine outdoor activities. Whether you are planning a quiet camping weekend, a river adventure, or simply need information about local hiking and fishing, our goal is to provide you with a unique and special experience.
Bethel Outdoor Adventure is situated in a beautiful location in Bethel, Maine next to the Androscoggin River, making it an ideal base for river adventures. A paved pet-friendly pathway connects us to the town of Bethel and the local Davis Park. Additionally, we are just five miles from Sunday River Ski Area.
Prices include selected boat(s), life jacket(s), paddle(s), safety briefing, free parking, and a shuttle ride in one of our vans upriver to desired put in location on the Androscoggin River. You can choose from a 1, 3, 5 or 6 hour trip. This classic option has stood the test of time. Our Maine made canoes seat two people comfortably although it is possible to fit a child in the middle.
At the sluice we sell buckets of mined material, providing a broad spectrum of area gems and minerals. Choose a bucket and use the data sheet handout to learn what colors or shapes to look for. We have tables, screens and a water source in the Sluice to help you easily dig through gems and minerals.

Last summer my family took our travel trailer across the country from Colorado to the coast of Maine. This was unfortunately the worst stop in our adventure.
We paid for full hook ups and the office staff put us in a site with only electricity and water. Also, the site that they put us in was impossible to enter due to the position of the trees surrounding the site. Someone from their grounds crew recognize that we were having an issue and put us in another site with full hook ups. We were very pleased and set up the camper for the evening. I asked the worker if I should notify the office, and

Charged $45 to be picked up at one of their launch spots…
The backstory: overall the experience on the river was stressful. Within the first 10 minutes we hit rushing water, then sideways hit a rock and flipped over. For the rest of the trip, the river was just too low in many spots and our two person kayak kept getting stuck on the bottom and I had to continuously get out and push the boat to get it moving again. After several hours of this we approached the west bethel launch point. I remember when booking the excursion the (super friendly) woman I spoke to mentioned this as a place to be

Came here for my bachelorette party in 2020, we went tubing and camped. We met the owner to give me a speech about marriage, and that's something I'll always remember. My husband and I came here this past weekend for out 1 year anniversary and will be coming for years to come.
Such a great place to camp, the Sluice was amazing and the guy who worked there recommended to check out the Maine Mineral & Gem Museum on Main Street in Bethel and I'm SO glad we did, it's a must if you are in the area!

Nice small campground, sites are very close together and the traffic in the campground is all the folks that go canoeing or tubing, they also use the bath house and it was not clean, trash over flowing in restrooms. Roads are dusty as they are dirt and people to not drive slow to keep dust down. Food truck in parking lot had good food.

I gave this place a high rating because the staff was so helpful in helping us understand the route on the river and the obstacles and the drop off and pick up went very smoothly. Great staff. Good equipment. Great advice.

We had an absolute blast going tubing with this company. The lady behind the desk was extremely helpful and understanding. Everyone had an awesome time in the river. And the trips take the suggested time maybe a little longer if you take your time and stop a bunch of times like we did. The tubing trip for us took most of the day. But we had smaller kids so it might not take as long for other groups. I would definitely recommend this place in a heartbeat! Very fun!

We enjoyed our stay. We went kayaking and I caught a glimpse of a moose drinking at the river as well as two separate duck families doing some fishing.

Checked in this Thursday, girl told us the sewer hookups weren’t working and there was a problem. We get to our site and it’s right in front of our site they’re digging and find some broken pipes, mind you these are working campers, but they got it! I start to offer some advice as I’m a master plumber and they’re so thankful, next day they’re still asking questions so I jump in the hole and make the repairs. The owner and the workers were so appreciative and offered us free lunch and free rides to the launch with our kayaks! Fantastic bunch of people up there and my buddy Chris and

The owners of this beautiful property are the most genuinely kind and caring people I've met. We're all lucky to have these folks fostering their love of nature and the Androscoggin river in each person who… crosses their threshold. They offer multiple lengths of trips for adventures in canoes, kayaks and on SUP's or tubes. The campground is perfectly small and quiet with wooded tent sites and full-hook up RV sites. It's conveniently right off Rt. 2 and close to lots of scenic drives, hikes and stunning lakes to paddle. If you're not too tired after all that... There is an island that sits

Our family had a great time today out on the river. We loved to be able to disconnect with our children and just relax talk and enjoy nature!!! This is a great value for 3 or 4 hours of fun.
Only improvement I would suggest would be a larger sign at the point where you get off of the river. I was so relaxed I simply missed it. Even after the instructor told me to keep an eye out near the bridge.
Very Happy! Thank you
