Rocky Mountain Stone
Scott C. Lardner has been surrounded by stone his whole life. Beginning when his father started the family business in 1963, Scott has been involved in many aspects of the industry. What started as an outlet for natural building and landscaping stone, has expanded into full service fabrication and installation of dimensional stone, waterjet cutting services, quarrying operations and stone processing.

Scott is current president of Rocky Mountain Stone Co. Inc. in Albuquerque, NM. He holds a bachelors degree from New Mexico State University. Throughout the years, Scott has served on many committees and organizations working to set and maintain quality standards within our industry and community.
Services
Rocky Mountain Stone was started in 1963 as a supplier of natural building and landscaping stone for the Albuquerque area. Since then, we have expanded into every aspect of the natural stone industry including full fabrication and installation for both residential and commercial applications. We produce the best quality work for you.
Created by nature. Perfected by us. Artisan Group, an elite, North American network of stone fabricators, offers the only lifetime warranty in the industry. With granite imported from the best sources around the globe, the most technically advanced, automated shops and superior products to seal and protect your granite, the group's quality is unsurpassed in the stone industry.
This proves that we are among the finest in the natural stone industry with respect to craftsmanship, safety, and business practices. For over seventy years, the Marble Institute of America (now MIA+BSI Natural Stone Institute) has served as the authoritative source of information on standards of natural stone workmanship and practice and the suitable application of natural stone products.
The costs for granite countertops vary significantly and depend on several available options. To accurately budget for your new countertops, it helps to know what the material, fabrication, and installation will be. Vendors typically use four grades: closeout, builder's, premium, and designer. Since the material is always granite, what most differentiates the grades is the appearance.
When your design call for the texture and natural ambiance of form and function these should be your choices. Slate and Sandstone are both sedimentary stones, usually formed as a result of quartz stones being eroded and redeposited by either water or wind. Sandstone consists of larger grain particles than slate.

Great company. Worked with Aaron and he handled all our needs. Professional, good communication and quality work. Was a few errors, but they correct promptly and correctly. Was some changes to order and some curve balls, but Aaron was great and worked with us on prices and options. Work with Aaron!!

Great salespeople but the workmanship is terrible. There were chips in the quartz. My six foot long countertop is 1/2 inch higher at one end than the other and they said it was within specs. All the caulking is cracked, the pieces of countertop don’t line up, and the epoxy isn’t color matched. They wouldn’t fix anything. They made all sorts of excuses to justify their mistakes. The owner is impossible to deal with.

We used Rocky Mountain Stone for all the granite countertops in our new home. Karen Ryan, our designer did a fabulous job in helping with selection and design. The granite came out perfect. The templating and finishing were excellent. Everyone who sees our granite countertops and back splashes thinks they are beautiful

Really disappointed in their customer service. We walked in and told them we were wanting granite countertops. We were told that their granite samples were on the left side and no one ever spoke to us again. We finally left, guess they've gotten too big or busy for the little guys. Oh well.

I didn't purchase from these guys because I was turned off by their customer service. I passed by when they were closed and liked the flagstone and boulders that I saw. The next day, I crossed the valley during my lunch hour to make the purchase and get a delivery scheduled. I was told that the guy I needed to talk to was on his lunch hour. There were lots of people around and you'd think someone would have basic knowledge of how many tons are on a pallet and what the names of the stones were. I decided I would label what I wanted in the yard and would call back to set everything

UPDATE:
I recently received a call from Karen with RMS. They were very apologetic about the issues we had with our granite installation. She offered to send a crew out immediately to fix the issue. The crew was at our house the very next day, and they were able to move the shifted granite piece back into place. They also recaulked part of our backsplash and the entire sink, which simply had aged. We are very happy that the staff at RMS resolved our issue, over 2 years after the initial installation.

Hoping they will make it right..... and they did!!! We have a happy ending and we would use them for our next project.

To be honest, we didn't start off well with RMS. We experienced multiple breakdowns in communication that left us with a bad taste. The scheduling for slab selection and installation didn't go well and we went round and round with our sales person. E-mail and phone calls went back and forth time and time again.

The template team was on time and pleasant to have in our home. The seemed experienced and professional. We were able to make modifications once we had the
