Services
The New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) program provides capital for businesses, developers, and non-profits to help make their projects a reality. MoFi works with investors to turn the credits into cash, and then uses that cash to fund catalytic development projects that create jobs and expand community services for low-income people and places.
MoFi's business consultants and professional staff provide one-on-one consulting and free and low-cost training opportunities. With MoFi, payments are simplified. Although statements are sent to you by e-mail each month, our clients are required to use convenient, automatic, ACH payments. The HomeNow program at MoFi allows approved lenders to provide down payment and closing cost assistance to eligible borrowers in the state of Montana. The program is very easy to use and has broad eligibility criteria. Choose from several program options and DPA structures to find the best match for your client.

MoFi is a wonderful organization. We have been working with them for 2 years and are so grateful for their partnership. We have found them to be very knowledgeable and helpful, as well as invested in the success of our business. They are always quick to respond. We would not have been able to get our business going without them and they walked us through it every step of the way. Gave us hope, said we were approved, and then turned us down last minute on a small technicality that could have been worked through but they chose not to. Wasted $200 on the application fee. The girl that made the decision hides behind her receptionist and is never available. Terrible customer service, they are rude and do not care about their customers.

Terrible experience with MoFi. Betsy was rude and condescending from the beginning. She didn't even listen to me. She asked me two different times during two conversations why someone would choose my business over Alpha Graphics. My business is NOTHING like Alpha Graphics so she obviously doesn't listen. More disturbing that I had to explain this TWICE to her. I reached out to the director Dave about my concerns with Betsy. What does he do? Nothing. Just referred me back to her. Then she was an hour and a half late calling me for a scheduled phone appointment and she called me from her doctor's

MoFI has an ambitious mission to help those who are unable to qualify for traditional financing. They are wonderful to speak with - when you can get them on the phone.
In my experience, MoFi quotes unrealistic time frames and they seem to ghost you when they do not have good news.
I would still recommend the program. However, I strongly urge management to coach representatives to accurately quote time frames for responses and to empower representatives to courageously speak the truth so applicants can move forward in a timely manner.
