W e advertise as the "Original" Hardwick Fence because Hank Hardwick started Hardwick Fence Company in Maine in 1965. In 1980, Hank moved to our historic city and opened Hardwick's Of St Augustine. After almost 10 years in business, he returned to New England. Hank's oldest son, Chuck, continued the Hardwick name in St Augustine as Chuck Hardwick Fence & Gates.
After his unexpected passing, Chuck's business name was sold and that business closed in the late 2000's. Donna Sparks, originally from Alabama, met Hank in the residential construction industry in East Tennessee. With an impressive knowledge of general contracting and a real gift for connecting with consumers, Donna was a natural fit as a partner with Hank and together they have formed an unstoppable team.

We do NOT use subcontractors, therefore eliminating any risk of a mechanic's lien.
Hardwick Fence is located on Remember When Farm (also owned by Donna Sparks) in St Augustine, FL. With several horses of our own, we understand the importance of a well-built equestrian fence. I want to thank Hardwick Fence Company for a great job installing a fence to make a bigger yard for my senior rescue dogs!!!! Hardwick Fence is a great example of "old fashion personal customer service", that is so hard to find these days. From Michael, who took the initial measurements, to Heather and Hank setting the appointment, to the two sweetest hardworking guys who installed my fence; Gerren and Michael!!! We hired Hardwick fence to install some black aluminum 3 rail fencing. Communication was timely and informative from the office staff and the assistance in filing HOA paperwork was a plus. The install crew was on time, polite and professional. Our fence is straight and plumb despite our back yard being on a slope. Would hire again. A+

I have neighbors who have spoke glowingly about their Hardwick fence installation experience. My need was much simpler - a replacement gate latch for an unknown competitor's fence that came with our recently purchased home. Donna searched high and low and found the perfect replacement. I also had the pleasure of meeting Donna's husband and one of Hardwick's field foremen. All three were completely genuine, unbelievably nice, and professional people.

Hardwick is awesome - they've done a TON of fences in our neighborhood, and so they were the only ones we called to quote us when we were ready for ours. Beyond easy to work with, as timely as humanly possible considering the impacts of COVID, and very high quality work. Would absolutely use again and have already been recommending them to others in the neighborhood.

I want to give a positive call out to Hardwick Fence. My original fence was installed by a different company, and within a couple of years started to sag seriously on one side and show gaps in several locations. After contacting the original installer and not even receiving a call back, I turned to Hardwick Fence. Although it took them a couple of weeks to schedule the job, once they did, they were punctual. Highly recommend! Great price for the times right now when materials are skyrocketing. Said 6-8 weeks and was done very much sooner! Quality of work was there and the 2 gentleman that did my fence worked very hard to get it done in a day for me even being on one of the hottest days this season!

I just want to let you how happy I am with the fence modification Hardwick did on our property. We had negotiated with our POA to allow our fenceline to adjoin with the POA fenceline surrounding the storm management pond behind our house. The crew arrived on time, surveyed the site and plan, and began work immediately. They modified the fenceline according to plan and were done by early afternoon. The quality of work is stellar. Their conduct was professional, courteous, and considerate. Big Thanks to Hardwick and their crew for doing such a professional job.

I had a 4' black chainlink fence installed around my house to keep my dogs safe in the yard. Installation was quick and professional and the fence looks great. After a month or so we noticed that our dogs could squeeze under the fence if they wanted to. I logged in to yelp to get Hardwick Fencings number and saw a previous reviewer that had a similar problem with their fence. Their review said they never got a response back about their issue. I was wary about that and jumped the gun and posted a negative review saying my dogs could escape our fence. Within a day or so, I received a nice voicemail

Hardwick Fence just completed a project on our property that included 250' of fence, a privacy fence for our outdoor shower and a simple retaining fence to mask the look of the elevated drain field in our front yard.
From the beginning, Hank Hardwick was a joy to deal with. He listened to our needs and took great pride in describing our options and the type of work his experienced crews would perform. Hank and Donna pretend to be friendly making you trust them and want to do business with them. This cons you in to trusting their company. The placed costly vinyl fence over sprinklers. They promised to move any sprinklers and they did not do as promised. I had to pay someone else to do this. They had my property survey on hand but also measured wrong when installing my fence. It took away property on my right. I found out after work was complete so nothing could be done. It causes mowing issues with landscapers, they never understand or remember to mow the rest of my unfenced lawn plus I have
