Located in the scenic Ohio Valley / Geauga Lakes region (NE Ohio) Kool Lakes is definitely a long way from my Antarctic home, but it has become my favorite vacation destination when I need to get away from the snow and ice. This peaceful Ohio campground is set in the woods and meadows around three spring-fed lakes, so I'm never far from a place to get wet and "keep kool."

The pristine 1.5 acre swimmin' lake is the perfect place to play on the water and catch a few rays on the sandy beach. The campground's facilities, including the covered pavilion and sand volleyball courts, are close to all the water fun. Anglers will want to bring their tackle to do a little fishing on the well-stocked 17.5 acre lake.
Services
From rustic, wooded campsites for your tents or pop-up trailer to full hookup, pull-through RV sites, Kool Lakes Family Campground provides exceptional Ohio campsites for prices that won't give you the chills! Water & Electric: These are partially-shaded spaces located near all activities or fully-shaded, secluded sites near the fishing lake.
Kool Lakes Family Campground is a great place to host your next group event. The Penguins Are People Too Society have made this park our official event center. The facilities and surroundings are perfect for whatever it is we are celebrating. One look at what Kool Lakes has to offer and I'm sure you'll agree!

A seasonal camper who was there all season and for 1 weekend I remove my camper but leave all my outside stuff to come back and my key card is deactivated and ALL my stuff was cleared out. The owners are trying to hide that they disposed of my stuff. And no answer when I ask why my key card was shut off a month early

Owners are rude. They will end your contract early and clear your site trying to blame it on theft. Bathrooms and shower areas are horrible. Always dirty, no water pressure and hardly any hot water. Unless you spend $400 on rocks your site floods. During bad storms if your out of town they don't notify you if something was blown away. The wood they sell is never dry but don't allow wood to enter the grounds. The pot holes are worse then Cleveland streets. I need new struts just after this season alone. The swimming lake is 20x worse then Lake Erie's beaches. It's like a swamp. No wonder they are

The way the owners treat seasonal campers. Lied saying my site was trashed when I left for a week. I have pics proving it was clean. All my stuff cleared from site or every piece of items I had stolen... which is rare to have everything stolen. And I can't get the owner to personally talk to me.

We rented a cabin but there's no air conditioner so it's very inconvenient if you have breathing issues bring your own fan

It's ok. Been going for 3 or 4 years now as the in laws have a permanent site. Owners arent investing much into the park, they're investing into their house and garage tho. Swimming pond is getting kinda gross. Needs new sand. Other than that it's an ok place to hang out

I liked it. They don't require full payment at the time of the reservation, but you can. You check in, get your gate code, find your spot. Staff were friendly and helpful. It was a little bumpy for my sedan on the way to my site. Electric and water hookup worked well. Bathroom and showers were fine. There's plenty of space for dog walks and kids to run around. I'll likely camp here again in the future.

Good campground if all you wanna do is relax. Very quiet,no events or activities (besides a barrel train for kids that they pull around.) Not many tent campers. Bathrooms were very clean. Fair prices and amenities are ok. Gets extremely quiet after 10pm. They don't seem that friendly but it is what it is. I see allot of reviews about a mean owner. Don't wanna run into her

Please consider going anywhere else but Kool Lakes. Read the negative reviews. They are spot on.
I had a seasonal site here for a total of 3 months. I paid $1100 for the remainder of the season. I put $500+ into the poorly maintained lot. I went to renew and pay for the 2021 season only to be advised I was unable to due to "many complaints" Hmmm incredibly strange because not ONCE was I advised of these so called complaints. I wrote an email to address the issue since the owners are never around and won't return calls. They failed to ever respond back to my email! Very unprofessional, overpriced

Enjoyed our time here, peaceful and relaxing. Everyone I encountered at the office was very nice and helpful ,was able to have packages delivered for minor repairs to the RV while here and they were very helpful.Campsite was nice and enough space to enjoy camp fire without being on top of the next person. Only things that I would make improvements on, perhaps another layer of gravel on the ground around the dumpsters so that when you're dropping off trash you don't have to walk through mud. Very close to Nelson ledges State Park which is absolutely beautiful. If you need any auto service while

I loved camping here. I had a year round spot and I made so many friends and the owners were good people and I consider them my friends.
Friendly place to camp, I made many good friends and sat at plenty of camp fires and made the best memories camping here.
I miss my camp buddies and I miss my spot...
I definatly would camp here again!
